"Truly the best property in Portree. Yes you are outside of town centre, but it is within a 10 minute walk which we easily did a few times. The hotel was incredible. My husband and I were celebrating our honeymoon and the pictures do not do it justice ! It is by far one of the most romantic places I’ve stayed . Of course ,the weather was amazing when we went ;but it was so cozy and charming , especially waking up to the sunrise . The room was clean and efficient, all we really needed . Very sleek without being pretentious . Now let’s move on to the hospitality. Paula was incredible . The best service at a restaurant I have received in Scotland , and up there with many fine dining establishments. We were late coming in from our tour and were worried about missing dinner , but she was so gracious and accommodating, we felt so comfortable and at home . This level of service is so rare and with both my husband and I working in restaurants, it was not only greatly appreciated, but truly made our whole experience . If you want to be pampered in the highlands and feel truly looked after, I truly recommend this property . One of the high lights of our entire trip . Thank you to all the staff ! "We had a great stay. Lovely place, amazing grounds, A1 service. A little confusing at first because there is a resort side and house hotel side. But staff was great explaining and getting us a person to help with our bags. Had dinner at the Cruize restaurant absolutely delicious and fresh food. Rooms excellent, lovely clean and bed was amazing comfortable. We really loved our stay. One recommendation is that the glass door in the shower is too short and there is no way the floor outside the shower doesn’t get wet. "

"Staff at the Ayre are very friendly and very helpful. We ate in the restaurant twice and had breakfast each morning - the food was excellent. If we have critisism it would be a lack of hanging hooks in the bedrooms - somewhere to hang your wet coat (because there weren't many hangers in the wardrobe) and hooks in the bathroom to hang your wet towels. "

"Our dog friendly room was on the 3rd floor with a colourful skylight. It was spotless and pitch black at night which was amazing. The staff always had a smile on their face and were more than happy to provide recommendations for things to do or places to go. The breakfast was superb. The square sausage was delicious. The dinner was tasty although the menu, for me, was fancier than it needed to be but was lovely "
