Pure relaxation
We enjoyed true relaxation from the moment we arrived til the moment we left. Comfy couches, luxurious linens, a well-equipped kitchen, and a view of the Chesapeake beyond compare. Can't wait to come back!

An incredible paradise
This property boasts the most incredible sunrise- right from the bedroom! Truly only 30 footsteps to “private beach”. Comfortable and everything works! We were prepared with all the groceries we needed. Having rented several other properties in this little gem of a community, this is my new fave! We will be back. Love this little slice of heaven.

We had a large family gathering. We also rented the house next door. Seascair has the nicer beach. Next door has larger spaces for indoor activities. Great combination.

New grandparents with daughter, son-in-law and our 5 month old grandbaby. Absolutely heaven!!
A short walk (less than 30 seconds) to the beach. A beach that is clean and calm for a family. Swimming, sunning and kayaking all-day, then barbeque in the evening. Only thing missing is maybe an outdoor firepit. But that might be against the fire code - not too sure. Otherwise - everything was absolutely perfect!

Traditionally my wife and I stayed in this cottage over Valentine's Day. When she was called home, I decided to reestablish this tradition. I was fortunate to receive early check in. The cottage was clean and well furnished. In spite of adverse weather, I enjoyed the solitude and walking the beach. Each day I ate a late lunch at Courtney's. A down-home laid-back restaurant with freshly prepared seafood. A place to be enjoyed not to be rushed. The stay was all that I hoped for. Relaxing, quiet and filled with memories of better times. Communications with the staff was responded to quickly and efficiently. The cottage is a hidden jewel that I will revisit in the future

There was good, there was bad, there was ugly
We recently stayed at this property and would come back to Scotland but would hesitate to stay at this property again. The Good: 1. The amazing beach - private and the water was wonderful. Sunrises we’re breathtaking. 2. The butterflies - we saw so many butterflies- all diffferent types and colors. 3. The birds - so fun to watch the beautiful birds fly by and dive in the water to catch a fish. The Bad: 1. The bugs - soooo many bugs. It was difficult to enjoy ourselves on the deck because we were constantly swatting away flies. The horse flies were particularly bad. When we drove up in our car we would often be attacked by a sworn of them. 2. The path to the beach was about 25 yards and not really cleared - shoes were necessary. 3. No outdoor facet to wash feet off before coming in the house. 4. 6 people cannot really sleep here. There were 2 queen beds and an air mattress with a hole in it. My sister-in-law came to stay for a night and we had to make a trek to target (30 minutes away) to buy an air mattress. 5. Speaking of target, there are 2 stores in Scotland; a dollar store and a market. Both were scary dumps and I was afraid to buy anything. If you stay in Scotland, bring everything you need. This is not the fault of the owner but worth mentioning because jour long trips to the store affected our vacation. 6. No fire pit. We were excited to see firewood there because we figured we had to buy our own but quickly realized another renter probably brought it and left it because there’s no fire pit. The Ugly: 1. The house really needs a good cleaning. There was dust and fur balls everywhere from a dog that priviously stayed in the house. 2. I woke up to a dead baby mouse in the middle of the kitchen floor one morning. 3. The washer was full of mold and not usable (at least for us). Overall, I kind of felt like we were roughing it this vacation. I was pretty disappointed with the house but the beach was so wonderful we stayed out there as much as we could and still made it a good vacation. I hope the owner makes some improvements to this property and it would have the potential to be an awesome place to stay 😊

This is our second time at Seascair. We absolutely loved it. The location is perfect, right on the beach. We stayed for three nights. And one of those nights, we drove to nearby Solomon's Island. The whole beach house is like a cozy cottage and ideal for three to four guests. We would definitely recommend staying there and returning again. Smiles.

Great vacation at a private beach
The cottage is amazing. Coffee in the morning on the back deck overlooking the water. Quiet morning walks for hours with our puppies. I can't emphasis enough how QUIET it is out there. Peaceful, relaxing. It was our own little piece of heaven

Feels like we found a beach hack
We booked this mini weekend vacation to introduce our 10 year old dog to the beach in hopes that she could travel with us more. That was a great success, but even more we found a place we will be coming back to for years to come. It is very remote (25 mins to a real grocery store) and not much in the way of restaurants or activities. But that is also why it’s great. It was quite and peaceful. The house was well stocked (plenty of everything in the kitchen), the beds were comfortable and the private beach was lovely. We did wish there was an outdoor shower or at least a nozzle for the hose so we could clean our feet off. Also the bikes are rusted and unusable and there were a few other things in the house that need attention, but all in all we loved it! On a side note, we did visit the restaurant which is owned by the same owner, Pier450, it was also very lovely and food was delicious. It is where Scheibles fish camp used to be. This meant nothing to me, but my husband got very excited when I read it because he had been there with his family as a kid. He thought Peggy had done well with keeping some of the old character, but making it all new and upscale.

We so appreciate the kind words of this guest. The impetus for opening our sister property, Pier450, was to ensure that guests had more dining options. We gave a bow to the restaurant's former incarnation - Scheibles - and are happy that those who knew it for its 60+ years before like that effort. But, as the guest noted, we will always be a rural escape on the beach and we like it that way, too.

Beautiful place but shockingly unresponsive property manager
This is a beautiful property; we have stayed here three times, each time hoping they'd get their act together. No luck. We have been charged different additional fees each time, including being charged a "deposit" that was never returned. It would be much more worth the cost if they invested in things like adequate mugs, bowls and glasses, and vacuuming between guests. (The house is listed for 5 people but there were 3 coffee mugs). The bikes are also in sore need of repair, and you can't adjust seat height. We also reported a broken chair in March and came back in May and it wasn't fixed. Finally, we have written 5-7 messages and called countless times and no one ever, ever responded with one exception. They need to figure out how to respond to people and do so in a timely manner. They also need to figure out a fair way to manage their surcharges and stick with it as they have changed so much over the last year.

Relaxing Mini Vacation

Beautiful escape
We loved the incredible location right on the bay. It was so peaceful and amazing to be so close to our own little beach. It was also great that we could see the water from almost every room in the house... so we could enjoy it even when it was raining. The house was in good condition as advertised and I liked the thoughtful decor. I would have appreciated a little more information about the house/area, and I didn't receive a response to a message I sent in advance of the trip, but we really had no problems and it was great to just get away from everything and relax for a few days while watching the water and the birds.

I grew up in Scotland, MD and this particular house was a house I had been in as a child so the location/property was a given for me - I knew exactly what I was renting and this area of the world is beautiful. I am very disappointed about communication with this property. I originally found this property on their main website. Because it was not clear how to book on their website, I emailed the owner about booking the property on Feb 8th - this request was forwarded to the owner's staff who emailed me back on Feb 9th and said they would be in touch the next day. Hearing nothing, I asked for an update on Feb 11. Again hearing nothing, I independently found that I could book this property on VRBO some time later. I eventually heard back from property staff in March (a month later) offering to help me book, but I had already done so. Regardless, I was excited to come to the property and show my husband around and use the kayaks to show him Long Neck Creek, a salient place of my childhood memory. Upon arrival, I noted that the kayaks that were an amenity advertised were not on the property. I planned to call the next morning to have these brought over. Around 9am, I called the number that was in my booking info and was disconnected twice, and then received no answer on the third call. I did a quick google search and saw that the offices didn’t open until 10am. So, I waited an hour. All told, I called three different numbers multiple times that were linked to this property (including the emergency number). As a last resort, I sent a message via VRBO and received an immediate response that the kayaks were not available due to the season. Not only was this not advertised, but there is another rental very close the house I stayed in which the kayaks are clearly available year round (based on recent guest reviews) and I would have chosen a different place to stay if I had known that this particular property did not provide kayaks at certain times during the year. My husband and I are experienced kayakers and this was an enormous disappointment. I messaged back on VRBO hoping to remedy the situation but received no further communication (not even an acknowledgment of my message). I also let the property know via VRBO that I would be leaving this feedback, and they did not respond. I’m extremely upset with the communication, both before and after my visit, and will not return.

Peaceful Getaway on the Bay
Scotland Yard is a secluded enclave of modern vacation homes in a beautiful, serene location. The home we stayed in was VERY clean and well kept. We had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Even in the off-season, we enjoyed playing on the private beach and visiting the state parks nearby including Point Lookout, St Mary’s River and Calvert Cliffs. The fireplace kept us extra cozy in the evenings. One note— we didn’t see an outdoor shower on the property as advertised. We look forward to returning!!

We absolutely loved staying at Seascair. It was perfect right in the sand near the beach. The master bedroom had sliding doors that opened to the water. You could relax on the outside chairs or walk into the shore. Everything was perfect. We didn't want to leave at all. And will be planning to return. Thank you so much.

Girls weekend
Our original trip was in November but Peggy was helpful in rescheduling due family health problems and got us rescheduled to February. We got hit with ice and snow but we were cozy inside. The key code didn't work but was quickly resolved. The fire place was not working and was not resolved. Still a nice relaxing place. I might come back with out snow, wind and ice. :)

We are delighted that this guest enjoyed her stay despite the bad weather. We love this house and its amazing views! Since her stay, we have upgraded the automated locks. An appointment to fix the has fireplace has been made but unfortunately the repairman could not get there before her arrival. Sometimes things break (or are broken) and we do our best to get repairs scheduled.

Seascair cottage
We enjoyed our stay at the cottage right on the beach of the the Chesapeake. The cottage was comfortable, nicely decorated, clean and met our expectations. We used the bikes on the property to visit Point Lookout State Park nearby and were hoping for an early snowstorm next day so that we could go cross country skiing. In the evening we picked up a nice seafood meal from Courtney's restaurant. We would definitely recommend staying here or at one of the other cottages. Thank you for letting us stay at the cottage. Virtual School/Work Shut down for a Week, let's Get Away
Seascair is flat out awesome. The solitude, view, comfy, warm living area made our trip so relaxing. Making it even more relaxing was the lunacy that was happening in DC while we were away. Can't even imagine how awesome this place would be in the summer, I jumped in the bay (not bright, but fun) in January, so swimming in the summer with all you need steps away, would be fantastic. The property could have been a little cleaner, but the rentals representative, Julie, handled everything quickly and professionally. Julie even brought us some firewood to the house so we could bonfire on the beach. We will definitely be coming again.

Easy 90 minute drive from DC. Incredible water views. Great amenities including washer dryer, dishwasher, fast wifi, gas fireplace. Kitchen had most everything we needed and host supplied lots of kitchen necessities like trash bags, detergent, etc. very comfortable beds. Bikes very old and mostly had flat tires, but no big deal.

We appreciate the positive comments. We do apologize for the flat tires on the bicycle. We try our best to keep up with them but if ever a guest finds a bicycle that is an operable, the contact information for our property manager is available. Notify us and we can take care of the problem.

Wonderful view.
Beautiful private beach area. Wonderful view from the house. House equipped with everything thing you may need. Comfortable beds. Management available and very helpful. A couple things were not working upon arrival. Management apologetic and communicative. One was fixed by the last day of our stay the other was not. Overall a great place to stay, would come again.

Great social distancing vacay!
This is our second time staying at this house. We’ve stayed at other properties close by but this house has the best beach access! Perfect for a small family who is looking to get away from the hustle. Staff is wonderful to work with and after a storm blew through during our stay, staff checked up on us immediately and had storm damage cleaned up the same day. Already booked the house for next year!!

We absolutely love staying at the Scotland Yards properties! Seascair is our family favorite. Kids love playing on the beach and crabbing. Just a perfect little getaway! Perfect with kids
Second trip to this house and truly love it! Having the beach right out the back door with calm bay waves makes this the perfect beach trip with little kids! Easy access for snacks, potty breaks and nap, and can sit outside with a glass of wine after the littles are in bed. My only suggestion would be to bring some sheets or something to throw over the windows if you are not early risers, the beautiful view is not something we personally are quite ready for at sunrise and the shades don't block much light.

Seascair lives up to it's name.
Cozy and comfortable! Seascair was a much needed little get away for me, my husband and our little dog. Quaint and quiet perfection! Bring lots of food and beverage with you because there is not much around down in that neck of the woods. But I was prepared because we have rented from this same landlord before and know the area well. If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, this place makes you slow down and relax. We loved it. We left a little token of our appreciation. A pleasant stay.........
Cleanliness could be improved. Felt sand on the floor upon first entry. A rinse off before getting in the house would be nice but there was no water hose or faucet outside. Pillows sheets had stains in them. A bonfire area outside would have been nice as well. However, our stay was enjoyable and we will come back for sure. Thank you.

We humbly apologize. We pride ourselves in the cleanliness of our properties. Sand is heavenly outside but the devil inside. Certainly, there shouldn't have been any on the floor upon arrival. We've spoke with the cleaner prior to that stay to redouble on the sand and to remove any linens with stains from the property. We occasionally miss the mark for the standards we set, but we also redouble our efforts when that happens.

What a treasure!
I had my doubts when reading the reviews and viewing the online photos. Those doubts quickly vanished once we arrived at the property. Everything was exactly as described, and better! We couldn't have asked for a better location. Quiet, secluded, and private. We hope to return many times in the near future!

Unfortunately my younger son and his girlfriend developed strep throat and didn't make it. My older son who was recently handicapped couldn't access the beach in his wheel chair. I forgot his walker. I'm new to this. Hopefully we'll get it right next year. I would have liked to of had access to my Netflix or Hulu accounts on main TV.
