Rosie's Homestead is an early 1900's farmhouse in the Schulenburg area that has been newly and meticulously remodeled. It sits on 17 acres creating just the needed privacy. The longleaf pine wood floors upstairs are original to the home. It is nestled in a peaceful environment of beautiful mature pecan trees. The farmhouse charm resonates in every room with 4 large bedrooms (2 upstairs and 2 downstairs) and 3 spacious full bathrooms (all with double vanities). Upstairs also has a gameroom with TV/Playstation/games to enjoy! The kitchen is fully equipped with new appliances. There is a laundry room with a new washer and dryer. It comfortably sleeps 16! There are porches on the front and back of the home that make it difficult to leave! Sit on the porch and watch the kids play in the large fenced-in yard (tetherball available) or just sit and watch the birds/cows. Bring marshmallows to roast or steaks to grill on the firepit. Gas grill also available. Keep an eye on the deer feeder for any visitors or just sit and watch the cows graze! In very close proximity to the house is the barn that has been turned into a "party barn." The barn is equipped with ping pong table, corn hole, dominoe table, benches/chairs/bar, lighting/ceiling fans, etc. Or forget the games and bring a speaker and two-step the night away! If your looking for a true country get-away, this is it!

It is conveniently located between Houston and San Antonio right off I-10.

The home is prime location for many of the wedding venues. Enjoy the ride to the wedding by the taking the scenic country roads to The Oaks of High Hill (11 miles), Svetlik Farm (9.5 miles), Swiss Alp Hall (12 miles) or Twin Oaks Ranch (17 miles).

Just minutes from The Painted Church Tour (Praha church 10 miles) and Monument Hill & Kreische Brewery State Historic Site (22 miles). It is surrounded by multiple wineries, breweries, and bars including Sengelmann Hall (8.7 miles), Majek Vineyard & Winery (12 miles), Moravia Vineyard & Winery (12 miles), Moravia Store (13 miles), Darcy's Vineyard (26 miles), Whistling Duck Vineyards & Winery (26 miles), Braham Winery (27 miles), Spoetzl Brewery (25 miles), and the list goes on!

This is by far the best family rental we've ever stayed at! The house was impeccable and designed perfectly so that we never felt crowded. The game barn outside is where we spent a lot of our time. It was a great place for kids, teens, and adults alike! We also loved looking at the cows!!! If you're looking for a peaceful family getaway, look no further!

What a beautiful place to stay!!

This property was great!! It was clean, well stocked with supplies, and in a beautiful location. The owner was responsive and answered any questions we had in a timely manner. The people before us forgot to leave the key in the lock box and Roxanne was over within 10 minutes to deliver a replacement. The house was so welcoming and had plenty of activities and games. Huge area to walk around. Our granddaughter loved watching the cows! A great place for a family gathering. I can't recommend it enough. Would love to stay here again.

This was our third visit to this property. As usual, it was great. Peaceful, quiet, pleasant surroundings. No place better than the back porch at both sunrise and sunset. If only Mother Nature could provide more wildlife, it would be perfect.

Refuge After the Storm

After Hurricane Beryl left our home without power and water, we were desperate for a safe haven. We found exactly that in this beautiful property. The Host welcomed us with open arms and went above and beyond to ensure our comfort during a difficult time. The property itself was so peaceful that we were able to relax and recharge. The house is located conveniently off highway and is well equipped with everything you need, especially Wi-Fi. We can not thank the host enough for the hospitality and helping us feel at home. We highly recommend this property and would like to say Thank You again for providing us with your lovely home during a difficult time. We hope to return soon for a family reunion as it's the perfect place.

Very nice property, well arranged. Peaceful country setting, nice to be out of the city. Only two slight problems: 1) some road noise from I-10 about 1/2 mile away, and 2) wish there was a little more wildlife. But we will be back again next year.

Perfect getaway!

Easy to access from freeway and easy to get into town. Sweet little farmhouse with tons of room and thoughtful details! Kids had a blast playing games in the game barn and everyone enjoyed the fire pit and back porch! Loved that we were able to bring our family dog along, too!!!

Great property and charming house with history. We love staying here and enjoying a kid free weekend away though it would also be great with your family. The owners are very nice and accommodating. We’ve stayed twice and plan to return yearly!

Charming, modernized farmhouse for family get together

The house was charming, decorated with lovely accents, and well-appointed. And very clean! The kitchen was outfitted with all that we needed for a family Thanksgiving meal. Plenty of room for all -- four generations (9 adults, 1 infant). Check in was easy, our stay was very comfortable, and we had a wonderful time. The location is peaceful, with fields all around. We enjoyed walks, playing corn hole and ping pong, making s'mores and just hanging out. Thank you Roxanne!

Second time we have stayed at this property. Highly recommended! Close to Schulenburg, Freyburg, Flatonia, and Roundtop. Property owner is very responsive and the house has everything you will need.

Great respite for Round Top!

We stayed here for a girls trip to Round Top. It was the perfect place to retreat to after a long day of shopping. Darling newly renovated farmhouse with all the amenities you need. The hostess was so responsive with any questions. We would stay here again when we come to Round Top Market!

Strengthening Bonds
