A multifaceted attraction in Guernsey offers tours of a historic home, brightly blooming gardens, engaging artworks and family entertainment.

Spend a day enjoying everything offered by Sausmarez Manor. This family-friendly attraction centers on a stunning historical mansion, but also features a sculpture garden, flowerbeds full of tropical plants and games for all ages.

Stand outside the house and consider the different historical influences that have shaped it. The manor has features that date back to the late 12th century, although the frontage was created in the early 1700s. Pause for photos of the elegant gray exterior, with symmetrical white windows. Explore the interior to see Tudor, Regency and Victorian additions to the architecture.

For many years the manor was the home of the Sausmarezes, a well-known Guernsey family who were politicians, explorers and artists, among other things. Take a tour of the building to find out about the family, their lives and the different aspects of the building. Come back in the evening for a ghost tour of the home and hear supernatural Sausmarez stories.

Board a miniature train to explore the grounds of Sausmarez Manor and to see the various gardens. Leave the train behind to wander through the Subtropical Gardens on foot. Marvel at the exotic plants that are able to grow in the warm climate of Guernsey and stop to rest on the edge of the two lakes in the park.

One of the highlights of the manor is the Sculpture Park. Sculptors love to exhibit their work in this picturesque garden, so the landscape is full of intriguing artworks by a wide variety of artists. Follow a trail through the park to see classically inspired statues and modernist masterpieces, many of which are for sale.

Drive to Sausmarez Manor in under 10 minutes from central St. Peter Port. The manor house is on the edge of the St. Martins region of the island. Visit throughout the year to see different flowers in bloom, although the house is only open seasonally. Buy a ticket for one of the park’s attractions to get a significant discount on all of the other attractions with the Privilege Pass.
