"Staff was kind , helpful and outgoing Breakfast was minimal for the price of a nights stay compared to other accommodations we visited. I would suggest adding bedside lighting. "Overall a perfectly good hotel for a one night stop whilst driving down Italia. The staff was very very nice, at check in, check out, and breakfast, very nice. The room was ok. Bathroom fine and clean. The breakfast was so so. It was ok, the quality of the eggs not so great, but not terrible. Overall it was good value for money and I would stay there again."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Sarturano?
The best area to stay in Sarturano is within the main village itself, around the Piazza della Chiesa and the surrounding streets.

This central area offers the most convenient access to local amenities and a genuine village experience. You'll find a selection of traditional trattorias, a small grocery shop, and the historic Church of San Michele Arcangelo, which forms a natural focal point. The streets are narrow and winding, superb for leisurely strolls, and properties often feature characteristic stone architecture.

For couples seeking a peaceful retreat with easy access to local life, staying in the village centre is ideal. You can enjoy quiet evenings, dine at family-run restaurants, and easily reach walking trails that lead into the surrounding hills. It's a superb base for experiencing the authentic pace of life in this part of Emilia.

Travellers interested in culinary experiences will also find the village centre excellent. Many local producers of Parmigiano Reggiano and balsamic vinegar are just a short drive away, and staying in the heart of Sarturano allows for easy access to these tasting opportunities.
When is the best time to go to Sarturano?
The best time to visit Sarturano is during the spring (late April to early June) and autumn (September to October) months.

These periods offer the most pleasant weather, with comfortable temperatures ideal for exploring the Emilia region. You'll find fewer crowds compared to the peak summer months, and the countryside is particularly picturesque, with spring blossoms or autumn colours. This is a great time for couples to enjoy the scenic drives and outdoor activities without the intense summer heat.

For those interested in culinary experiences, autumn is especially rewarding as it coincides with harvest season. You'll find local festivals celebrating truffles, grapes, and other regional produce, offering a genuine taste of Emilia's gastronomic heritage.
