First impression was not great, we had checked in around 9pm due to a late flight into liberia. They had given us a room on the ground floor, and upon walking into our room, we had spiders, ants, and a cockroach all over our hotel room floor. Our first nights sleep was not as comfortable as we expected. So first thing in the morning we asked if we can possibly move to another room. With no questions asked, the front desk was able to help us and we moved into the fourth floor by noontime. The staff was very helpful and friendly with our accommodation request. From that point on, we has no pests in our room on the fourth floor. Everything else about the resort was amazing. The restaurants were good, the pools were great, and the entertainment was amazing. The resort is great for families with kids as our daughter was fully entertained the whole stay.

Front Desk supervisor, Thania Provided excellent service she’s a superstar. She’s great kind professional. What I didn’t like was our bathroom had a foul smell. I like variety of the food buffet was excellent. Staff was cordial and professional.

Our room smelled musty from the minute we walked in. Each room was supposed to have its own liquor bar filled with bottles but ours was empty and nobody ever came and filled it after we asked. We both came home with salmonella and E. coli. Lastly, there were multiple people vaping and smoking in the pools which allegedly was “strictly prohibited”.

The property was very accommodating and offered plenty options. As a side bonus there are monkeys you can feed within walking distance which made the trip even better

We returned to Costa Rica for our babymoon after vacationing in the Arenal Volcano region for our honeymoon. Would definitely recommend this resort. It was our first time visiting a Riu, and we loved the grounds, the staff was great, and there were a good number of selections for food. Some reviews mention the lounge chair availability at the beach, but we had no problem getting spots down there. It is a few minute walk from the pool and restaurant area, but we enjoyed being able to enjoy a relaxing environment on the beach which was always less crowded. There is staff that will set up lounge chairs for you and servers do come down for drinks as well. Overall positive experience and would stay here again next time.
