We had the best time at Bev and Len’s piece of paradise! The cottage was so comfortable and had everything we needed, it was perfect for us and our dog. Fishing and watching sunsets on the dock were great and the tiki is beautiful. We loved visiting with Len and Bev every day, we felt so welcomed, we will definitely be back!!
We had a wonderful time at the cottage on Snead Island! It is certainly the most dog friendly place we have ever stayed. Len, Beverly and Smiley Miley are fabulous hosts and we couldn’t have felt more welcome and at home.
Nice property on the Manatee River with a dock and kayaks that are available for free use. Emerson Point Preserve is beautiful with hiking/biking trails and lots of birds. Everyone was very friendly. Lots of dogs on site since the owners rescue dogs.
This is a great location.... the beach themed cottage is perfect.. very clean! If you love to fish or just enjoy being by the water this is the place. Bev is a welcoming hostess. This is my second stay and I will definitely return!
The property is in excellent shape and in a wonderful location on the Manatee River, just a few steps from the Dock, Tiki, and the water. It was so pleasant to see that Snead Island is still a peaceful place without the hustle and bustle of nearby Bradenton. I would recommend it to anyone ! This was my second year in a row visiting and the hosts (Bev and Len) were absolutely the greatest and so, very friendly. I look forward to yet another stay in the months to come !
My husband and I (plus 2 fur babies) enjoyed a long weekend away in snead island. We used the provided Kayaks and indulged onn the mango tree too. Cottage had all necessary amenities.
Very convenient to places to go. Lovely dock with sunsets and relaxing. Hiking very close. Hosts are friendly and helpful. Cottage has everything we needed. Loved the screened in front porch.
The location is fabulous. It is a short walk on the property to the water's edge where there is a dock and a tiki to relax in. It was our go to place for wine at night. There is a preserve near by that is perfect for people and dogs. There are great walking trails, even in the shade, which is perfect for a dog in the summer heat.
This property was everything that I expected and I had a wonderful time. The Hosts were very, very friendly as well. Everything in the property listing was accurate, the scenery was wonderful and the Cottage was perfect (and in a perfect location for me). I needed some time away from my regular day-to-day activities and this gave me a place to simply relax and enjoy all that the gulf coast of Florida has to offer. Thanks for your hospitality! I would definitely wish to stay at this property again either later this year or next Spring!
Unfortunately the island had been devastated by Hurricane Helene. I am originally from this area, I expected what I saw on the island. With that said, the cottage was perfect for me and my pups! Bev was great to communicate with. I will definitely stay here again! This area is resilient, as it always has been. I will always support locals. I can’t wait to see how beautiful it will be on my next trip
All I wanted for my birthday was to get away with my fiancé, 4 fur babies and fishing rods and tackle for my birthday. This was the only place I found in all of florida that met these requirements. First of all the cottage is beautiful large, cozy and well decorated. There is a seperate laundry room with washer, dryer, ironing board. The 2 bedrooms are great sized (the master bedrom has the most amazing soft and warm blankets and pillows). The kitchenette area is stocked well with silverware, plates, & cookware to accomodate 2-4 people. The property is well maintaned and clean, really wish we had more time here. The location is well suited if you just want to relax, getaway, watch a beautiful sunset and enjoy life (and get some fishing done).
We needed a place to stay with our 3 furkids close to family. This cottage was great, the views, OMG amazing views!
When you pull into driveway you will see the cottage, a trailer, then the owners house then the pier.
The little beach area the sand is wet. Bring a pair of long pants as the sand flies or something ate my legs up mid August. Knowing the temp was in the 90's and 100's i didn't think to pack.
There is a tiki hut right next to the pier/dock. The view from either is incredible. You can watch dolphins and manatees daily. You can even fish off the dock, there's a fish cleaning station on the dock, or use their canoe.
The hosts are very nice amazing people, I feel blessed to have met them and i can't forget to mention their sweet furkid Smiley Miley.
We definitely plan on staying every time we visit FL.
We booked this trip for my husband’s 50th birthday so we could attend the Bucs vs Eagles game. We decided to stay someplace out of the hustle and bustle of the popular areas. Snead island is a nice getaway. We were super close to the nature reserve which was a cool surprise. We ventured to Gulfport for a boat tour and also Bradenton for a night out. St Pete was about 30ish min drive. In Palmetto, be sure to check out Dee’s for breakfast. The cottage was situated on the front of the owner’s property. We honestly hardly even knew they were there. They were very communicative through the booking process as well as the stay. The dock was a very short walk around the owners home. The property/area is pet friendly. We are animal lovers so it was not a bother to us at all. The owners dogs were secure in their home and we barely even knew they were there. The house was everything we needed. The floors are a little wonky, but it didn’t affect our stay. We would totally recommend this home away from home 😊 Thank you again to Bev and Len for being gracious hosts!
100% recommend! Can’t say enough good about this place!
We had a WONDERFUL stay. The ONLY issue we had was an issue with getting the door to lock, they came and fixed it quickly and right away. Great pet friendly place, very clean. The dock is GREAT for fishing, we caught so many we got tired of catching them. The home sets in front of the property owners home, the dock is directly behind their house. Very short walk. Had great lighting for night fishing, it’s beautiful to just go set out there at night and watch the dolphins and manatees. We saw a baby dolphin one night! Great community. Bev was very informative about things to do in the area. It’s so peaceful there, we loved getting up early and watching the birds in the yard, or going down to the dock to watch the wildlife. There’s a mango tree in the front yard, they welcomed us to it, and they were DELICIOUS! It’s very close to a ton of stuff to do, especially Emerson point. Lots of state parks in the area with fun things to do. Some of our favorite places to eat were Mr and Mrs crabs, the lazy lobster, peaches, and the crepe place. There’s a ton of great ice cream shops around the area. You’re very close to Walmart, Walmart fuel station, and a dollar general is right down the street. We loved the red barn flea market and farmers market. I 100% recommend this place, it’s close enough to everything, but far enough away from all the businesses to relax and enjoy the outdoors.
It was a wonderful location. We spend hours fishing on the dock and relaxing. It was a very comfortable and cosy home. I would recommend and would stay again.
Beautiful property and comfortable cottage getaway. Stocked with everything you needed! Very relaxing which is just what I needed. Thank you for your hospitality!
