Fantastic family getaway
Beautiful property that had plenty of room for our extended family. The creek is so much fun and you have it all to yourself - it's also far enough away from the house that you don't have to worry as much about your small kids wandering down there by themselves. Heaps of cooking options with a large fridge / freezer and coffee machine as well. We are already keen to come back!

Revisit Scenic Rim
The location was secluded and peaceful but close enough to Canungra for supplies. Walks along creek exceptional. Plenty of wildlife and it was great our dog could enjoy it all with us.

Fantastic for group of friends or family get together
This property is all we, a group of 4 ladies on a girls' weekend, could have hoped for. We each had our own bedroom and the living areas were large and plenty. Lots of spots to choose from to catch or escape the sun, window seats, large indoor couches, 2 outdoor lounges, etc. We used the firepit( wood supplied) and spent a lovely evening under the full moon. Large spacious kitchen, 2 lovely bathrooms to share. The property is peaceful and spectacular, the only sounds are birds and cows. The photos are true to the real-life. For a getaway for friends or a family escape it is perfect, with spare beds in most rooms, it could sleep 10-12 (we counted but I've forgotten the exact amount!) Communication with Debbie was excellent, even though we didn't get to meet as she was unwell, so we met Rick who showed us through the house. They have a house at the top of the hill so are there if needed, but otherwise they leave you to it. We were all blown away by the house and property and it exceeded our expectations. I recommend doing a shop for all that you need before you go as there isn't a supermarket particularly close by. Canungra is a lovely little town about 15 minutes drive away and we went to Cafe Metz both days for lunch/brunch- also highly recommended. For a peaceful, quiet getaway from everything- this is the spot and if the price is split between friends/family, we all felt it was excellent value. Highly and heartily recommended.

Wedding getaway
It was a great place for a large family to catch up. The wonderful running creek was so relaxing. Plenty of room for everyone. What we liked the most was the peace and tranquillity. The owner was very helpful and obliging.

Heavenly , old rustic large country home
We are a family, we swam in the creek, played games, cooked, canoed , walked, relaxed on the beautiful outdoor verandahs and took in the serene views. Watched the cattle, saw a rabbit, a few kangaroes. Debra & Rick the hosts were lovely. So we as a family just loved it.

5 Star Stay
If you are looking to disconnect and experience a relaxing weekend in glorious surroundings - this is the place! Debra was the most incredible host (what a woman!). The house is so beautiful and the grounds were absolutely gorgeous...cups of tea watching the sun rise, listening to the bubbling stream, reading a book on the huge verandah couches hearing the wildlife or by the fire - and the cutest, friendliest cows. What Debra has created is a dream home in the country. Highly recommend for anyone looking to recharge or entertain!

Amazing place to escape the city
Relaxing break, Debbie and Rick are amazing hosts, more then happy to help you feel like at home during your stay. Spacious property with lots of character. The kids aand the puppy enjoyed playing outside and kayaking in the creek. Just make sure you have a good 4WD as crossing the creek bridges can get a bit challenging if it gets too rainy.

Perfect little getaway

Absolutely amazing
We stayed here with our two children and my parents and fur babies. When we first arrived we were lost for words! The property and the surrounds are just incredible!!! We loved every minute of our stay. Everything you need is here and every detail is thought of. The fire pit down by the creek was the highlight for us as we spent the day by the creek kayaking, picnicking and sunbathing and in the evening we had a bbq and sat by the fire. Before bed we would sit around the dining table back at the house playing board games and then retire to the living room so settle into the comfy couches and watch some telly. We cannot wait to be back and cannot thank our hosts enough for the opportunity to stay at this beautiful property. Wonderful weekend

An incredibly beautiful homestead and property and surrounds.
Deb and Rick were perfect hosts. The homestead is super clean, comfortable and beautiful with so much character. Our dogs were allowed and they loved exploring the property. Highly recommended if you love fresh air, open space and the best chill out lounge with a view for a wine (or two)!

The perfect escape
What a wonderful place to get away from everything and just unwind. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would definately return. We spent both days relaxing by the creek with a wine and the kids and my border collie enjoyed exploring the creek. Debra was the perfect host and offered lots of support if needed. The house is big, lovely and had absolutely everything you need. If you are after somewhere to hide away and recharge this is a great place to go.

The perfect start to our year
When we first drove through the gates, into the property, we already knew it was going to be perfect. By the time we reached the gardens we had smiles from ear to ear. Debra was absolutely amazing as she showed us around the property and the house. She made us feel right at home from the get-go. Our stay was a short one, however we could easily have stayed longer if we had the time. They had everything you could possibly need as well, which gave the stay that extra touch. We appreciated the effort greatly. Thank you for having us at your property, it was so much MORE than what we thought we booked.

AMAZING STAY, welcoming hosts located on the flowing river
Enjoyed our stay here immensely with our two dogs. Communication with Deb was excellent, she always made sure we were comfortable and was even able to offer us flexibility with a very, very early check in which we were very grateful for. The property is amazing, right on a flowing river, which we enjoyed swimming in the afternoons and just lazing about by the waters edge. The home itself is very well equipped with all you need for the stay. Very comfortable main bed and nice breezes with the doors open. The wrap around deck overlooking the local cows grazing, birds singing and the river running……is where we had all of our meals, and the BBQ cooking on sunset with beer in hard - you couldnt be more relaxed! It is very secluded and the surrounding gardens make you feel like a world away! A short drive from the town which we visited each day for a local coffee or a meal. Many thanks to both Deb and Rick for hosting us, amazing property and so welcoming. There is no doubt we will be back when we travel up north again. Cris, Carter, Cooper & Ella

Idyllic country retreat
Cannot fault this property! We had a lovely stay in the homestead. There's plenty to do if you want to be active (walking, swimming, kayaking) and lots of comfy nooks if you just want to relax. Debra and Rick are delightful hosts. My dog had a ball. Fingers crossed we can stay again sometime.

50th Birthday Getaway
My friends and I stayed for 3 nights at Deb and Rick's wonderful property to celebrate my 50th Birthday. Their property (house, surrounding grounds and creek) was amazing. We had a fabulous time and Deb & Rick were so welcoming and lovely to deal with. The house was immaculate with everything included. The only thing we had to bring was our food, which was a pleasure to prepare in the well equipped kitchen. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was so relaxing and we loved sitting on the deck with our little puppy watching the cows and soaking up the mountainous views. We also loved having the creek to cool down and swim in when the temperature warmed up. We will definitely be back.

As close to perfect as it gets
This place can only be described as perfect. We spent dads 82nd birthday here this week. From the beautiful, relaxed surroundings, to the cleanest place ever, to the quality linens it was wonderful. Mum and dad settled in on the spacious verandas while we hit the creek and kayaks. Deb was a great host, communicated well and was very kind and flexible with our changing arrangements - especially given my sister who has had a couple of bad experiences with past trips was only coming for the day. Needless to say she fell in love with the place and ended up staying the whole time too. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend this place and we are already planning our return trip for mums birthday!

Stunning Stay
This property blew us away from the moment we drove up. There was nothing we could want for, even though it rained all weekend it did not impede our stay. So many different undercover options with the full verandah around the house, the fires & heaters kept us extremely warm and the undercover shelter creek side even let us enjoy our open fire and damper cooking. Rick had left a large supply of firewood which we were extremely grateful for and Debbie has the house looking amazing. So peaceful, highly recommend.

Country break
This is a lovely old Queenslander with big verandas and lots of space to relax and listen to the birds and other wildlife. We were treated to visits by green tree frogs around the down pipes and loved listening to their croaking echoing up to us. The property is all very dry with the drought, but there was still plenty of water in the creek. Definitely somewhere we will look to return to for other holidays.

Beautiful, peaceful property.
We spent 3 days at Sarabah celebrating our daughters birthday. Loved the wide open spaces. There were plenty of space to find your own quite spot. Our two year old grandson loved it 'catch me if you can". His favourite phrase. Loved the old house and the furnishings. The kitchen was a dream. It's obvious that it's a work in progress. A stain on the dinning room carpet that I'm sure will be fixed. Family enjoyed the stay so much that they have already booked another break. Deb was very accommodating and a pleasure to deal with.

Hi Dene Yes its terrible when a guest books your place then sneaks there whole wedding to be held there without permission or payment then stains all the carpet and refuses to pay anything and I have to replace it. Because of the person is why I now have to get a bond up front which is such a shame. Glad you enjoyed the rest of the property and your family are coming back.

Very peaceful and relaxing
Beautiful creek, lovely for swimming, cows and birds were novel. House is spacious, great kitchen. Only thing I can pick on was a few too many teddies and doilies for me, but overall a very comfortable and homely place, very relaxing with all the wide verandas catching a fabulous breeze. Could not help but enjoy my stay immensely. Great place for kids too.
