Gran Hotel Costa del Sol

"Honest review, 3 star hotel not an 4. the staff was good, they did their job. Front desk was a 3/5, cleaning staff 3/5 and the dining room staff was great 5/5. When we did ask for our room to be cleaned they only swept the floor and remade the beds and changed towels, or tub remained dirty the whole time. They also took away the 2nd blanket and never replaced, we had 3 beds, never got the 3rd blanket. The beds were terribly uncomfortable, had to buy a memory foam from jysk just to survive. The carpets in the hallway were very stained, and the hallway walls were very stained and splattered, need to be repainted. There is NO parking on site, they should just say that. We stayed for 2 weeks, tried every day for a parking spot but it was a first come first serve thing, never once saw the ‘parking full’ sign taken down. No way to put your name on a list or even bid on parking. You have to go park somewhere FAR away from the hotel. They should be transparent about this. The rooftop area they advertise on pictures is actually a pay-to-enter bar and not included in all-inclusive. Limited drinks for all inclusive as well. View from balcony was spectacular, pool and pool side lounging was good. The beach loungers you see are not covered by the hotel and cost 7-15 euro to rent. Buffet food was good, and there was a large selection, though after 2 weeks it becomes the same menu (not their fault). This is a great central location for excursions and great access to the beach."

"Lovely property in a great location. The shared pool is lovely to cool off in. The nearest beach is not too far away and easy to walk to. A car is needed if you want to explore the surrounding area. We had a great time and would recommend this property."

"properties are beautiful as is the resort , it wasnt clear until we arrived that we could only use one pool. the pool looked clean but had a greasy film and dyed everything yellow and had lots of sand in the bottom of pool . I didn't witness anyone cleaning it through the stay and people were in the pool until 1am . very difficult to get the bus as they were often full and drove past ."

"Nous avons pass é un très bon séjour dans la villa lili. On s'y est senti comme chez nous. La piscine est superbe et les chambres/salle de bain egalement. Nous étions 8 adultes et 2 enfants en bas âges. La plage se trouve a 10/15 min à pied (ça monte pour le retour) et les restaurants et supermarché sont encore plus prêt. L'emplacement est idéal (entre Marbella et Malaga). Le village de mijas est calme mais animé.Il y a une belle vue mer sur la terrasse et sur le quartier qui est très joli.Nous recommandons vivement merci Julian"

"Staff at the hotel were extremely friendly and very efficient. The rooms are spacious and are cleaned every day. Breakfast was a buffet where you can choose hot and cold food. Hotel is just across the road from the harbour and five minutes walk from the centre. We love this hotel and gave stayed there about 8 times. We would highly recommend it."
Villa Lissa with private heated pool

"The property was grand to look at, tidy and clean and is spacious with a lot of bedrooms and a nice pool. The property is accessed by 2 sets of stairs so it’s a struggle if you have heavy luggage. There is also a spiral staircase joining the 3 floors together which aren’t great for young children or oaps. We had a 20 month old that we had to keep away from the stairs as no stair gate, and two oaps staying that struggled with it. There are only two TVs in the property and the one in the master bedroom is situated right to the side so you’d get a stiff neck watching it. There is also a water feature in the garden that isn’t used anymore that has stagnant water and mosquitoes in. For a 20 person villa there are two single fridge freezers which isn’t enough space and my party only had 13 people. Also only limited cupboard space for food. On first day we had ant infestation and were told to just put ant powder down, which isn’t something you should have to deal with on holiday.The villa stated pool towels provided but only 5 were given. Also there aren’t many mirrors in most bedrooms and the iron leaked everytime we filled it up. My suggestions would be: make the downstairs communal area a games area, mirrors in bedrooms, remove water outside next to pool so it doesn’t attract mosquitoes, provide bigger fridges and more cupboard space, state on description accessibility of stairs, provide more towels, fix the bottom doorbell and provide a better iron. These would make it great!"
