Open living room, dining room, and kitchen area. Private and quiet two bedrooms and bathrooms. Lots of light, well temperatured, and easy to make ourselves at home. Owners always available and eager to make our stay perfect!
Darlene and Kurt have a lovely home. The location is wonderful. Convenient & quiet. Close to the SF River Trail and downtown. The house itself has everything you need. Great kitchen, comfortable bedrooms/bathrooms, and the perfect sized backyard/portal for enjoying outdoor time. The swap cooler worked incredibly well, great for hot SF summers. Easy to be in touch with but never invasive, Darlene & Kurt were gracious hosts who always made us feel comfortable.
This gorgeous home has everything someone could want and enjoy during their stay. The kitchen is spacious and well equipped, the living area is spacious, the backyard is beautiful, and the bedrooms and restrooms are great. The jacuzzi is also a plus! Darlene made the stay incredibly seamless and was a very gracious host. I recommend anyone looking for a longer term stay to try this property.
Great location, close to a small shopping center with a nice coffee bar, grocery store, liquor store and several restaurants. There is also a great walking, running, biking trail a block away and it is only a short drive in order to get to the Plaza. Darlene is a great hostess and is responds quickly to any questions that you might have regarding Santa Fe. I highly recommend this property!
This was our fourth time staying at Kurt and Darlene’s. It has become like a second home for us. We are so comfortable there and Kurt and Darlene are so welcoming and hospitable. The house is open yet very cozy. It is in a great location and a beautiful 10 minute bike ride up the river path to the plaza. Next time we are in Santa Fe we will be staying here!
We spent 2 months at this very comfortable home and were very happy with the location, the ease of living in the home, and the wonderful support and responsiveness of the hosts, Darlene and Kurt. The neighborhood is quiet and friendly, the fenced in yard feels private and was great for our dog, and it was a short 2 minute drive to the center of town. The bike trail along W. Alameda is right across the street offering walkers, bikers immediate access and the Frank Ortiz Dog Park is a 10 minute walk away. I highly recommend this property !
We stayed for a month in Darlene and Kurt's home just east of downtown Santa Fe. Everything was exactly as described. The home is just East of St. Francis and we found it quite easy to get to any part of Santa Fe quickly. The house is only half a block's walk from the river where there is a lovely paved walking trail. We walked our dogs there on numerous mornings. The home has a nice patio (with table and chairs and a gas grill) and a fenced yard that was great for our fur babies. The home itself is so well stocked. As we were staying for the month, I used the kitchen to both cook and serve take out regularly. It was great to visit the Farmer's Market and then prepare our purchases for our meals and it was easy to do since everything I needed (other than the food, of course) was supplied.
Darlene and Kurt were so kind and such good communicators. They were very helpful in supplying suggestions regarding the city, things to do and other near-by places to visit. I was very comfortable contacting them and we found it easy to make their home our home for the time we stayed. We highly recommend their home. If we return to Santa Fe for an extended stay Darlene and Kurt's home will be at the tip top of our list of places to stay!!!
Absolutely gorgeous home that has been a great temporary stay while in town for work.

Wonderful stay
This was our second stay at Casa de la Luz, which we enjoyed as much as our first. It's becoming our home away from home - we've booked it again next year. Highly recommended!
My husband, small dog and I had a lovely stay at this property. It is a 5 minute drive to the Plaza, supermarket and a nice mall. Across the street is a park with tennis and a bike path. Owners were very responsive and friendly. Highly recommend!
The winter months here were so warm and toasty. The fireplace was fabulous, as well the warmth of the radiant heat. Our dogs loved playing in the snow. Spending the Holidays and hunkering down was a highlight of our 9 month stay.
Can't beat the location. Close to everything. Description was spot on so no surprises and when I called to say the ironing board was broken, owners delivered a new one immediately. Book it!
This was our second time staying at this home. It was just as wonderful as the first time. Between our two stays we have spent seven months there. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful yet still close to the plaza and restaurants. The owners, Kurt and Darlene are amazing. They were always available for any of our questions or needs. They have become our friends and hope we will be staying there again in the future.

A Wonderful Summer
We thoroughly enjoyed the three months that we stayed here this summer, so much so that we’ve already reserved time next summer. The owners, Darlene and Kurt, are friendly (but not intrusive). The house is tastefully decorated and comfortable. The combined kitchen-dining-living room is light and airy, with its high ceiling, large windows, and skylights. We prepared many meals in the well-equipped kitchen. The queen bed in the bedroom is very comfortable. We (and our dog) found the very private back yard to be wonderful, with its trees, grassy area, hummingbirds, gas grill, and patio, where we frequently ate our meals. Bicentennial Park is a block away. We walked our dog there every day. The three-mile-long River Trail, which runs through the park, is nice for a longer walk, and we used it to bicycle toward the plaza area in one direction and to Frenchy’s field in the other direction.
We are building a home and needed an extended stay for us and our 2 dogs. This home suited our needs perfectly. There is a private, secure yard with grass for the dogs. This is not easy to come by. The neighborhood is quiet with plenty of parking for our truck and car in the driveway. The home is clean, spacious, cozy, and well appointed. The mature trees offer plenty of shade and the A/C kept the entire home cool in the summer months. The main bedroom is large with a nice Ensuite and walk-in closet. We used the second bedroom as a work-at-home office with great internet speed for daily Zoom calls. The kitchen has modern appliances, tons of storage, a spacious pantry, and there's a separate laundry room. We enjoy the close proximity to Santa Fe for all our needs, but daily use of the nearby river trail for walking/biking is a huge plus. We often walk to the Solana Center for coffee and groceries. Darlene and Kurt are super hosts and special people. They made us feel so welcome and are quick to respond if we need anything. We have been so comfortable living here. Highly Recommend!
We were able to extend our stay by 2 additional months, allowing us to enjoy summer in Santa Fe. Darlene and Kurt allowed us to water the flowers and backyard grass, something we really enjoyed doing. We used the BBQ and stored our bikes on the back patio during this time. This location is so perfect. Our dogs really loved Frank Ortiz park. We rode our bikes everywhere...Cafecito for breakfast, then hit the RailYard Farmers Market for produce on our way back. We were always comfortable in the house with our choice of opening windows/doors or using the A/C;. Fantastic stay!
Wonderful warm welcome. A stylish Santa Fe home in a peaceful and quiet neighborhood. The owners are super friendly and always accessible. Close enough to Plaza for a pleasant walk. We’d definitely stay here again!
Amazing home conveniently located and super comfortable!
We needed a place during the final stages of our home build in Santa Fe and Darlene’s and Kurt’s place fit the bill perfectly. It is just as shown in the pictures and is very well outfitted with anything you might need for a comfortable stay, including high quality kitchen ware and linens. We needed a strong WiFi signal and that was no problem either. The location is perfect with a very nice park across the street for our dog and easy access to St. Francis Drive and all downtown amenities. Darlene and Kurt were super communicative during our stay. We recommend highly!
Want to stay in Santa Fe but can't afford the Plaza hotels? Want to live like a local, and walk your dog in the park? This cute house on Bob Street is just the ticket. Great restaurants nearby and close to the Santa Fe river with its long walk/bike path and green parkways.
Stayed for 6 months, hated to leave. The house is adorable and spacious with generous supplies and so convenient to downtown, good restaurants, parks, grocery stores. Communication with Darlene and Kurt was a pleasure.
Our second stay at this wonderful property in Santa Fe. Ideal location, home has everything anyone would need and the owners are so professional and personable. I can't say enough about this property. We will certainly be back next year!
This was our third stay in this very nice house. It's spacious and comfortable. The owners, Darlene and Kurt, are friendly and readily available if needed. The back yard with its grass is a big plus (our dog agrees). We prepared many meals in the well-equipped kitchen, and walked and bicycled frequently in the park that is a block away We hope to come back in the future.
We spent 2 months in this very comfortable house. It is located just a short drive away from Santa Fe Plaza. The house is very well furnished and equipped. We found it to be spacious and a delight in many ways. There is easy access to the river trail which runs from east to west right across the centre of Santa Fe. I had a bicycle and went cycling every day. Darlene was the perfect host and answered all of my questions and was a great source of information.
I would recommend this house to anyone.
