"This was a gem of a find. The facilities are slightly dated but the upkeep and condition is excellent. All of the staff that we encountered were superb. We felt that the selection that we had at the restaurant were very good and a good value. We'd recommend this hotel to our family and friends -- we would like to do a return visit ourselves!"

"The Property in which we stayed is a one bedroom with ensuite shower and WC, one bath, kitchen and lounge and it has a large terrace overlooking the beautiful town of Santa Cruz and the Ilhas Desertas with a lovely panoramic view of the Atlantic and the surrounding Mountains It was perfect for us as a couple. The property owners, Fatima and Jose who are a wonderful couple and great hosts are always ready to help if you need them, Best stay thus far. Silvia and Lancelot"

"On the night of our arrival for a one-night stay the hotel was closed for refurbishment. We had not been told in advance, and had a frantic search for alternative accommodation. The Boutique Hotel has to date not replied to our e-mail, so we are currently out of pocket."

"Generaly an old hotel could need some refurbishments. Our room was really humid, we notified the reception but noting was done, no working ventilation in the bathroom. Some spots of the hotel are not cleaned, dust and spiders found. The swimming pool had some rust patches. The breakfast was good on the first day afterwards the quality and quantity went down. One day, no more cheese, only one type of bread no more "Nutella" available only some sad rests of jam available. Salad on the buffet was...

"We had a wonderful stay here. The garden is stunning - so peaceful and beautiful, right by a lovely little river and plants everywhere. The cabins are extremely comfortable and clean, with a handy kitchen, nice beds, and a great seating area underneath the cabin. Our host was welcoming and helpful. We felt very relaxed and sad to leave!"
