Always Wonderful

Beautiful
It was a huge and happy surprise to walk in for the first time to a beautiful view of the ocean. We didn't know it was that good. Our family came from various parts of California to spend Thanksgiving here and enjoyed every aspect of being in the house. It has a unique design. The kitchen is well stocked. It's centrally located. And very clean. Well worth it.

Great house with a beach view
Villa Alegria is a great rental! Nice amenities, kitchen very well stocked, main living area and lovely deck with a view of the beach. Hearing the ocean waves is very special! Bring your own beach gear and towels though. Owner is responsive to our requests. This is our second year here, and we’ll be back!

Comfortable with Stunning Views
We really enjoyed our stay here. The layout was perfect for our family, with rooms the kids loved, and a lovely master bedroom. The views from the back deck were stunning - we spent a lot of time relaxing there. Walking to the beach was a breeze, as was getting to Capitola, the Boardwalk, restaurants, etc. Best of all - everyone slept really well, and definitely better than we have anywhere outside our own home.

Awesome View and Steps from the Beach
We had an excellent week. Great Ocean and Beach views from the Balcony and living room. The host was very accommodating and communicative. Took long walks on the beach and relaxed on the balcony to the sounds of the ocean. Hope to stay again soon.

Amazing ocean view
Our group of 5 had a great stay. The house had everything we needed and the location cannot be beat! Great house for generations staying together. The older folks can sit on the deck and enjoy the view while others hit the beach. The access is just a few houses away. The owner is super responsive and easy to work with. This is our second stay and hope to stay again in the future!

Fantastic Place in a Great Location
Lovely property in Santa Cruz. Views out to the beach. Clean with great facilities and in a safe neighbourhood. Stayed with 6 adults a a six year old and visited San Francisco a couple of times as well as surrounding area. Lovely accommodation in a great area with a really helpful host.

Excellent vacation home
This beautiful, spacious, and picturesque rental home was amazing. Being lulled to sleep by the sounds of ocean waves, feeling the relaxing beachside breeze, and being just a short stroll from the sand made this vacation home a dream weekend get away. The host was also very nice and accommodating, and the quaint beachtown vibe was wonderful.

Christmas Getaway
Property was perfect for our family. Hearing the ocean and the ocean view were exactly as described. The kitchen was fully stocked and perfect for cooking our holiday treats and meals. There was construction as mentioned by Ed, but it was not a nuisance at all. Would highly recommend this rental! Thank you Ed for your lovely and well maintained home!

Perfect Beach House
What an ideal property. Watch the sunset from the comfort of the living room, sit on the deck and sunbathe, cuddle up by the fire while listening to the waves crashing on the shore…this property is everything you want in a beach house. The kitchen is well stocked if you enjoy cooking. Easy and quick walk to the sand. 20 minute walk to shops and restaurants. If you want to splurge on a beach vacation this is the spot. There is a large steep staircase to get inside so if you have trouble going up and down stairs that can be a little troublesome. We would absolutely come again! It was perfect for us!

We really enjoyed our stay at Ed's place, we were four adults and a small child. The house is very well located, very short walk to the beach, well appointed, clean and has a great view. Hope to stay here again in the near future!

Absolutely perfect location. We got the family and headed into Santa Cruz from nearby San Jose for a quick weekend get-away and this didn't disappoint. Incredible views, easy access to the beach, great house ... everything we needed for the perfect weekend.

Girls trip beach getaway
This is an excellent property, among the many rental choices in Santa Cruz. We have been going to Santa Cruz for over 20 years and have stayed in several rentals in the area, and this is definitely in our top 2! Having the ocean view was great! We had our windows open and heard the waves all day and night. And the beach is a 5 minute walk, so close! Traffic on East Cliff can be a little noisy in the 2 back bedrooms, with the windows open, but the other pluses made up for that. The master has the best setup, with en-suite and walk in closet. The furniture is comfortable and in good condition. We loved the open floor plan. The outdoor deck furniture is also of very good quality and well maintained. The beds and linens are fine. We were a little disappointed that there weren’t any beach towels, but we made do bringing our own. The kitchen is very well stocked. We like to eat in and we had all the pots, pans and dishes we needed. Love the Fiestaware! All the appliances were good and basic kitchen spices and supplies were there. Edward was very up front when we made the reservation about the construction going on next door. We took the property knowing that, and it was only a slight distraction. Hopefully they will be done sometime in the next year!! But just a heads up. We will definitely be booking again for next year!

Spacious, clean, and well-appointed. Location was great...low-traffic street and just a short drive to downtown. We really enjoyed the view and sounds of the ocean from the deck. Property Manager responded very quickly when we had questions. Looking forward to a future stay.

The property was immaculately kept and exactly as advertised. It was a short, easy walk to the beach and the views from living/dining area and master bedroom were fantastic. I have never stayed in such a well stocked rental either...the owner literally had everything in the kitchen you could possibly need. He also left very detailed instructions on how to work the electronics, etc. which is something that I have had to struggle with at other rentals in the past. Overall fantastic stay and experience!

This was a wonderful week for us. The house is fabulous —overlooking the ocean. Very well equipped and comfortable. Breezes off the Pacific every day. Our only regret—we couldn’t stay longer. We very much enjoyed our stay here! The house was very clean and the kitchen was well-stocked and suitable for cooking. You can hear the ocean all the time with the windows open. Ans it I s close enough to the beach that the kids didn’t need shoes to walk there. A great little neighborhood: quiet, close enough to walk to some shops and restaurants. Really got comfortable here during our stay and would definitely recommend it to other families.

We loved our stay. The house is lovely, with quality touches from the solid wood doors to the beautiful cabinetry, and the location is wonderful. We especially loved listening to the waves going to sleep at night. The kitchen was well stocked. ( a blow dryer in the bathroom would be a helpful addition.) It may be COVID related but we would have loved more pillows on the beds and throw pillows on the sofas. Ed was an available and communicative host. This is a special home in a special location.

Very impressed with this rental! Great location with short walk to the beach. Nice views of the ocean from inside and the deck. So clean, the cleanest VRBO I have ever rented and I am a clean freak. Entertainment was top notch with smart tv offering Netflix, Disney and ESPN... along with speakers to connect your phone to play music. Ed the host was very responsive with every question or feedback I provided. Definitely recommend!

This is a beautiful property that is a short walk to a very nice beach. The inside of the property is very nice with plenty of room for our family of four. The kitchen/living room area is quite large and can comfortably fit a larger group. There is lots to do near this property including the beach, the boardwalk, shopping, dining, etc. The only thing that is keeping me from giving it five stars was that there is no place to store bikes or other outdoor gear. Santa Cruz is very bike friendly and has a lot to do outdoors. It would have been great to be able to bring and store bikes and/or other gear. The property owner notified me of the rules, but I didn't want to change my booking at the time. In the future I will likely look for another property so that I can bring bikes/outdoor gear.

From the moment you walk in you notice the expansive open floor plan with living room, dining room, and kitchen all connected with large open view of the ocean. Open the windows and triple-sliding doors and you can easily hear the waves. Nice back porch to soak up the sun and enjoy a good book. Everything in this home is top grade with beautiful craftsmanship. It is meticulously cared for which provides for a thoroughly relaxing and enjoyable retreat. Easy beach access after literally 5 minutes walking. Will definitely stay here again.
