"I arrived after taking two buses from the bus station and using google translate I asked if there was anywhere to buy bread for my lunch. Memmet said he would go and get me some from the tiny shop next door. He came back with some flatbread and also gave me some tomatoes etc and a mug of tea to have with it. "Best part about the hotel was the staff and owner. The owner is also a historical tour guide and provided the most fantastic personal tour. It greatly enriched the experience and immersion into the local culture and extraordinary ancient history of Urfa and Harran. "Very close to the old city centre: the main mosque, the castle, the gorgeous Pond of Sacred Fish and oasis-like centre of the town. Views in the morning and evening were wonderful. The hotel is being expanded so building works and the bathroom needed tidying up, but otherwise kind staff, extremely comfortable room, delicious breakfast and wonderful driver, Irfan, who took me to Gobleki Tepe and taught me (some) Turkish.
