My husband and I are in our 60's and came here to escape the freezing weather further north. We found this place in rather short notice so was expecting that we would have to sacrifice some of our vacation checklist luxuries but was pleasantly surprised. EXCELLENT location with a very short walk (2 minutes) to a beautiful beach. We appreciated having a washer and dryer on site so we didn't have to bring as many clothes and the kitchen is large and adequately stocked. Its on the first level so no stairs and it's the closest unit to the beach and on the back corner of the facility so our dedicated parking space was close to our door. The only drawback for us was it lacked a king-sized bed, but because we drove, I brought my own king sized bedding and we pushed the 2 twins together to make the king. We put a foam cushion on top of the beds so we didn't feel the groove between the beds. The twins are in the master suite, so it gave us access to the larger bathroom. The 2nd bedroom has a queen bed, small walk-in closet and it's own full bathroom. The screened porch overlooks the well-groomed lawn in back where the pool is. The pool is heated to a very comfortable bath-water level and the day we took advantage of it was like a private pool. No one was there and it's well surrounded by hedges that protect it from view of outsiders. It's located off of a main drive that is lined with beautiful properties and allows for miles of walking and biking trails. My husband and I enjoyed 4-6 mile walks every day but a lot of people were biking. You can obtain rentals from a nearby location. Everything you'd want to do is close by. Beaches, Shelling, Walking, Biking, Restaurants (Doc Fords was our favorite) and we plan to go to the newly renovated Shell Museum before we leave. The drive-through nature preserve is also a popular attraction. We also took a drive to nearby Captiva Island which was also a treat. There is a very nice grocery nearby but you may want to stop at a Publix before coming on the island. The prices are twice the amount you would normally spend and there is a $6 toll every time you come onto the island. You don't need to stop and pay as they must take pictures of your tags and then bill you which is very convenient. That being said, the only time I went off the island was to do some clothes shopping . The owner, Susan, was very responsive when we had questions and very nice. Thank you, Susan for a wonderful experience.
