This was the perfect stop on my way into Big Bend NP. Danny was a great host and greeted me with much needed water and snacks after a long drive from ATX. The room was clean and comfortable and met my needs since I was only looking for a place to rest between days at the park.

Great stay/Great value

Excellent stay. The price was more than fair and I slept like an angel on the comfortable bed. The hotel fits in perfectly with the town and far west Texas.

The gentleman in the office was very friendly and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome! Beds could have been more comfortable but for a budget place to stay in such a small town I wasn’t expecting the Hilton.

While it's not a fancy resort with all the resources, it's a quiet, simple stay with staff that aim to please, offering snacks and personal checkings of rooms, as well as flexibility in check-in/out times as they are able. Likely to become better as well the more visitors they receive now that they have re-opened after the pandemic, and offer a cheaper option for similar quality compared to the other main option in town.

We stayed here one night on a trip to Carlsbad. Everything ok and we got a bit of a museum feeling. The room was conserved in a state is has been designed maybe 50 years ago - very different to the standardized styles of today. This definitely was a great experience. Our host Danny was absolutely friendly, surprised us with a delicious home-cooked dinner - vegetarian. A good meal in Texas without a steak is possible!! We will remember that stay, thank you Danny.

The personal touch

Although my travel was delayed causing us to arrive at 3:30 AM, I was in constant contact with the staff. Upon arrival, I was kindly greeted by the staff at the Budget Inn and was even offered a modest snack to take to the room. The property is somewhat old and lacked a few amenities such as electrical plugs but the room was clean and in proper working order for a quick in and out overnight stay. It was obvious that the manager took pride in providing the best possible service and experience. I’ll take that any day! If you’re in the area, preferably during normal business hours, you might just have to stop in and say hello to Benny.

The staff was very friendly, however the room was barely possible as a room. The door locks didn't work and the windows were sealed shut. The entire faculty lost power around 10 pm and no way to start chill by opening the windows. Would not recommend

Simple, honest, and lower cost than the surrounding places, upon getting there danny at the frony desk was very friendly and gave me a try of snacks and a couple water bottles, i wish there were more motels like this.
