Amazing family time! We arrived to a delicious meal ready and waiting for us. The property is as stated with and the hospitality is wonderful. We are surprised by reading a prior guest review because the beach is beautiful and sunrise is breathtaking - I guess its about who you are with. We kayaked in front of the beach house and went snorkeling to Hol Chan Marine Reserve nearby. Secret beach is also highly recommended. Thank you for a wonderful stay. We will be back soon.

What a beautiful spot perfect location right on the beach. Just a short golf cart ride gets you to town or Secret Beach. Wonderful food as well

Amazing experience

This is the second time I have stayed at Escape Away and could not more highly recommend it! Alan and Dorita are amazing hosts. The food was fantastic and the ocean front is first rate.

A vacation of a lifetime

Our family had an incredible stay at Escape Away. Alan and Dorita made ua feel very comfortable and well taken care of. Alan picked us up from the airport and whisked us to the home where Dorita had an amazing meal waiting for us.after a long day of travel.

We had a wonderful stay. Alan and Dorita were amazing hosts and chefs! I spent a lot of time in the Hammocks.The location is just far enough away from San Pedro to be away from the hustle and bustle. The description of the property needs to be updated, as there is no dock and other highlights are vague in description.We enjoyed Belize and will be back in the future.

What a wonderful experience

This is pretty much what they advertise. We had a great time and enjoyed everything . We could snorkel, paddle board and kayak right off our beach . Jose even took my husband fishing off the pier . Alan makes sure everything is just right , and Dorita is an amazing chef . We had an amazing time with a very wonderful experience , the only down side was we had to go home .

Great stay/location

The house is great, excellent location, very convenient to restaurants, airports, beaches. Alan and his family are great, great chefs, very friendly, our kids enjoyed playing with their kids. House is comfortable, nice beach front and plenty of space. We highly recommend this house.

Great Family Get Away

All 9 of us (from 2 year old granddaughter to Grandparents) were comfortable in the house and any issues were quickly addressed by Allan and Dorita and family. Dorita is an excellent chef. We loved the entire family downstairs and our experiences snorkeling, Mayan Temple, and cave tubing. Would definitely visit again.

Hosts are excellent, property is a bit lack luster.

The onsite hosts took very good care of us. The house itself was very clean and the food was very good. The property itself was ok. The beds were comfortable but lacked enough seating for both dinner and relaxing inside and on the front deck. We were told there was a washer and dryer. Well, kind of. The dryer does not work at all and the washer washes but you have to hand rinse your clothes. The beach was nice but you couldn't access the water due to the influx of sea grass. This is not their fault but did impact our enjoyment of staying "on the beach ".

Incredible

While the listing is not accurate (no washer/dryer, no pool or spa), the hospitality and care of Alan and Dorita were life changing. The food was out of this world, and included 100% in the price, which I did not expect. They bent over backwards to ensure we had a wonderful time - and we certainly did. We will be returning!

Expectations Met

I suggest reading reviews so you know what to expect. As others have mentioned, Alan and Dorita were great but don't expect 3 or 4 course dinners. Enjoyed the tour of Mayan Ruins and cave tubing tour which was super convenient as picked up at house (4:30 AM ) and dropped off at night. It would have been helpful to have ice cube trays for the freezer, but bags of ice available to purchase at store. There was no stocked pantry, but you will not go hungry. Water cooler was great so we didn't need to buy bottled water.

Belize getaway

The facility was very comfortable and it was made even more enjoyable by Alan and his wife Dorita who did the fabulous cooking. The location was bout 30 minutes drive by golf cart from the airport with part of the road paved and part not with many potholes. It was quite and relaxing. We took a trip to Abergris Key about 30 years ago and had fond memories of how downtown San Pedro was small and quaint but tourism has hit the island and our new memories are not nearly as fond as the first. Bumper to bumper golf carts with less than optimal roads did not make travel pleasurable.

It was t what we expected

Poured rain for 4 days, no dryer not enough railing on ypthe top of the stairs, only two chairs on porch so had t drag two out of the living room whenever we all wanted out. Manager and family were wonderful. Food was great!

We were spoiled!

Dorita really spoiled us by cooking for us:) Alan picked us up from the water taxi and dropped us off at the airport when we left. The golf cart was all we needed for transportation around the island. The house is not huge, but we spent most of our time outside on the deck or on the beach when we were there. We used the tandem kayaks a couple of times.

Beautiful beach getaway with awesome property caretakers!

The house was pretty much as described. The staff that lives onsite, Alan and Dorita, are INCREDIBLY helpful, kind, and they cooked DELICIOUS meals. They were very accommodating. I didn’t know until we got there that they stayed on site, but they quickly became friends with us and we enjoyed their company. It was really nice to have local guides as resources. We also did the Mayan ruins and cave tubing and it was totally worth it. We stayed for 6 days and it was GREAT! Would definitely stay again, but only if Alan and Dorita are the caretakers/chef.

Our family had a great time for the week. There were 5 of us staying in the house and it was very comfortable. Alan and Dorita took good care of us from the minute we arrived at the airport until we left. Dorita fixed delicious meals with something different each meal. We enjoyed talking with Alan and Dorita daily. They always coordinated our meal times with anything we had going on. The house location is fantastic. It is a short ride to Secret Beach and does not take long to drive into town. Overall, we had a wonderful time and hope to return again soon.

10Yr anniversary Stay

My Wife and I just left the Escape away “Harmony Beach House” This was a wonderful retreat away from the every day hustle and grind of work. We got lucky and had the best staff helping us out. Alin, Jhony, and Dorita became family by the end of it. Dorita is one of the best cooks I’ve had, and she is better than just about every restaurant we ate at, on top of that Alin and Jhony gave us the lay of the land and the history of Belize. I would 100% stay there again however there is no pool, and there is no satellite TV so if you are coming here for that I would still encourage you to do so but also go a short 5 min up the road to the Hidden Jewel Boutique hotel. Pool and bar are open to the public and was just the right amount of time we needed.

Excellent hosts/beautiful grounds

We had a great time. Alan and Dorita were great hosts. The food was amazing. The house isn't as nice as it is in pictures but you need to keep in mind it's Belize. There is no pool access but we did not miss it. Beach time was good. We had issues with the golfcarts but Alan was very good about providing a different one to use. I know others who have been to San Pedro and they also have had issues with golf carts. There was only one kayak, the other one had missing parts so we used as a paddle board. Even though things didn't always go as planned. It was a great time. I would totally recommend this place. Just keep in mind it's more rustic than it looks online.

3rd trip and first VRBO

You won’t find better people than Alan and Dorita. Their family went way beyond and we enjoyed them. It was like they were a part of our family forever. Their kids hung out with us, explored, played games and ate with us. The location is at the turn off for Secret Beach so that is so convenient. It’s far enough away that the noise and lights of downtown to ruin the view. But close enough that we can go into town any time. It’s our third trip to Belize and we will always stay with Alan and his family from now on.

A Fantastic Escape at Escape Away Harmony

My friends and I recently spent 8 incredible days at Escape Away Harmony, and it was nothing short of amazing. From the moment we arrived, Dorita and Allen made us feel completely at home. Dorita’s meals were delicious and well-prepared, adding a delightful local flavor to our stay. Allen was equally fantastic, taking care of everything from bringing fresh coconuts to keeping the beach and outdoor spaces clean. He went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Their two children were lovely and made the atmosphere even more welcoming. One of Allen's kids even took one of us fishing, which was such a memorable experience. The property was spotless, and every detail was thoughtfully managed. If you're looking for a beautiful, friendly, and relaxing getaway, Escape Away Harmony is the perfect place. Highly recommended due to the awesome caretakers.

Met all our needs!

The family on site takes care of transportation to and from airport, cooking, cleaning, keeping beach raked, and anything else you need. Their kids are fantastic with helping, answering questions, and played with our kids. The food Dorrita made was amazing! Alan will do anything to make your vacation awesome; he even knocked down fresh coconuts for us and cut them so we could drink fresh coconut water. They begin to feel like an extension of your family and they are what makes this VRBO what it is! Thank you guys!

Amazing Meals!

Alan and his assistant met us at the airport as scheduled. They led us to the house and took care of our luggage. Alan gave us an overview of the house and the golf carts. He was very helpful throughout our stay. Dorita is an amazing chef and together with Alan, they provided delicious meals each day! Alan and his son kept the beach clean throughout our stay as well. The house was comfortable for our group of 6 adults. Views from the porch and lounge chairs at the beach were spectacular. Alan and Dorita's three dogs were friendly and fun to interact with throughout our stay. We all fell in love with Kong :) Thanks for a great stay.

Amazing Getaway

This house is the perfect combination of vacation property and feeling like family. Darita, Alan, and Johaney ensured we had anything we needed... we left all meals up to them to decide on except for a birthday celebration which they prepared to its finest. We said that not one meal was disappointing, we ate local and experienced some of the most amazing dishes. We had 6 adults and there was plenty of room for all of us. Having a private beach and deck made each morning and evening a joy to sit around and enjoy the view. We highly recommend this property and will for sure be looking at coming back again. Hugs were given when we left... they are like an extended family to us now.
