Thankfully a call led to a receptionist popping down to meet us and later taking us to a secure covered car park. Probably the town being in lockdown ahead of a visit by the King and Queen didn't help. It's a high tech hotel modern hotel built into an old building. I called the hotel number and I think the lady was telling me that she had to visit the doctor and will be at the hotel soon. We went for a breakfast in the town centre and sure enough she was back and let us check-in early."
