A wonderful place to stay to see all of San Juan

My husband and I stayed at this lovely apartment while he attended a conference at the Convention Center, which is a short walk away. It's perfectly situated to see all of San Juan- the more residential & neighborhoody parts with some great restaurants are right there on your doorstep, and the more resorty/beach part of the city is a short walk away. Walking to Old San Juan and back is a nice daytrip, though you may need to take an Uber back. The apartment itself was exactly what we needed- all the comforts of home, A/C that worked perfectly, and a nice patio area out front. We'd definitely stay here again!

Great Experience

The apartment was more than reasonably priced, considering that it's located in Miramar, a very attractive residential section of San Juan that's within a few minutes of everything. The accommodations were superb -- a roomy, one-bedroom unit with a kitchen/dining area, living room, patio, a washer dryer and a parking space. They also include an owner who is always accessible when you need her. You can't beat the privacy. I would stay again.

Nice apartment

A nice apartment. We are familiar with the neighborhood and always enjoy Miramar. While the apartment is nicely laid out, the corner on which it is situated is noisy with traffic. We would have benefited from a more comfortable Furniture in the living room . On a whole, though, it very clean space with an especially nice kitchen and bathroom.

Fantastic

Loved the location. Close proximity to Old San Juan, airport, and if walking there were many restaurants and shopping. Clean, cute decor, and nice patio!

A few days to end a 3 week vacation

We were able to find the location with ease. Parking was a bit of a challenge; usually ended up a block or so away. It would have been nice to have a spot in the gated parking on site. Getting in was a bit of a challenge. We were to call and be buzzed in; buzzer wasn't working correctly. I believe the young lady that magically appeared was Sarah to let us in. Then we had trouble with the key less entry number. With enough attempts it finally worked. The apartment was quaint. It had what you needed, especially for a few days stay. Overall it was quiet; there was a smoke detector some where in a hallway that needed its battery changed, it kept chirping and was easily heard in the kitchen/living area. It could not be heard in the bedroom. It was a nice quiet sleep after being awakened by chickens the last 2 1/2 weeks in our last place at 3am!! Many wonderful restaurants within walking distance....along with a movie theater and grocery store. Furniture to sit and watch tv was very minimal...would have been nice to have a chair or two. The enclosed patio area was very peaceful and happy with the plants....would have been nice to sit and read or have morning coffee/evening wine out there....just too hot. Overall, a good quiet neighborhood with plenty to walk to. Would stay again.

Comfortable and Convenient

I stayed in the garden apartment while in San Juan for a conference at the Condado Plaza Hilton. I enjoyed the location---safe neighborhood, close to many businesses and restaurants---and it was an easy 15 minute walk to Ashford Avenue. The apartment itself was delightful, especially the two high-powered air conditioning units and the renovated shower/bathroom. I thought this rental was a great value for the price and came appointed with everything I needed for my brief time in Puerto Rico. I would definitely stay here again!

Nice Apt.

Cute apt. with nice art work, patio and remodeled bath. Walking distance to restaurants and grocery store. Only issue was having to park on street, often full in front of house but space was available around the corner.

Wow wow wow

Sofia was amazing!! She helped us find all the neatest places on the island and really went out of her way to make our honeymoon amazing!! This is the perfect place to stay in San Juan, it is an easy walk to moat of the big arractions and areas but just enough out of the tourist area that it is affordable!!! The garden patio is perfect for sipping drinks in the evening or breakfast in the am and the whole place felt like home!! We definitely cant wait to go back!!

Little Gem

Very clean and comfortable. The owners were very quick to respond to any issued that came up. Restaurants and beach within walking distance. The transit stop is just outside the unit, only minutes to Old San Juan by transit. We spent most the time when at the apt on the patio. We definitely would recommend this little gem.

Great little garden apartment

Located on fairly busy corner right next to the bus stops. Easy 75 cent bus ride to Old San Juan. The Walmart is less than a mile away, the Condado Plaza Beach is also less than one mile away. Located in the Miramar neighborhood which has a Movie house, grocery, pharmacy, and many restaurants. The apartment is small but includes a washer/dryer stack, and kitchen. I loved the place and plan to return for twice as long next year.

Great location

The apartment was clean and true to the description in the website. It is comfortable for 1-2 people, even though if you don't mind close proximity it could be fit for more. The location is great, very close (walking) to everything that you need, supermarket, pharmacy, cinema, Marshalls and plenty of restaurants to choose from. Miramar is a very enchanting neighborhood. You even have a very nice little beach. If you like walking like us, it is an easy walk to Condado, which is a more touristy area, or a longer walk (45 minutes) to beautiful Old San Juan. If you don't like to walk there is public transportation very, very close by. On the downside, the apartment can be noisy at nights and mornings when you are sleeping because the bus stop is outside your window, and the Fernandez Juncos Ave. is a busy street. Also, the apartment can get very dusty due to the busy street so I recommend to get a swifter or vaccum cleaner if you are very allergic like us. We borrowed a swifter, which made it much easier. If you rent a car be sure to rent a very small car since the parking space is tiny and the parking lot is very tight. But all in all is a great apartment and we enjoyed very much the 12 days we spent there.

Fun, spacious, and close to transportation

We enjoyed staying at the apartment! Positives: - The apartment is a nice space. Really high ceilings and lots of light make it really bright and fun to stay in. The place does have accommodations for a about 4 people (one large bed in the bedroom, and a firm couch and not so firm 1-person sofabed in the living room area). - Right outside the apartment is a bus that takes you to Condado, one of the trendy parts of San Juan that also has some really great beaches. The bus that takes you to old San Juan, another great place to visit, is less than a 5 minute walk away. - The place has a kitchen with a pretty nice electric stove, so you can cook and eat at home if you like. - Wireless connection is strong throughout the apartment, and even outside in the enclosed garden. - The place has a washer and dryer in the apartment, which was GREAT. - If you prefer to stay in Miramar (the upper/middle-class residential neighborhood the apartment is in), there are quite a few restaurants and bars that are very close by, one of which is a 24 hour Puerto Rican diner. There's also a small supermarket about a 10 minute walk away. - The property owner/manager was available by text and responded to questions within 5-10 minutes. She also lives nearby, just in case. I can't really claim any negatives about the apartment, but being that this was my first time visiting Puerto Rico, the following would have been helpful: - A cutting board! We did a bunch of cooking in the apartment and could have really used a proper cutting board. - The dryer vent wasn't fully functional when we were there (but I believe they're working on it). The vent tube is directed into a small container of water... which ended up spilling a bit when the dryer was being used. - Clear markings for the fans! It took us a couple of days to realize that level 5 was the lowest power setting for the fan, rather than the highest! And the following info would've been great to have upon or before our arrival: - Clear directions from the airport to the apartment by bus, in case you want to do that instead of a taxi. - Some prepared info for taking the buses to old San Juan, Condado, and other points of interest in the city. - Car rental information (we used Charlie car rental, which was CHEAP and overall good) Overall, a great stay!

Comfortable, safe, quiet, home-like

The apartment was in a nice area, mostly quiet, though frequent police sirens at night. It was safe- we jogged and took walks in the early am and early evenings, never encountered any problems. Some possibly homeless people seemed to relax on the steps of a boarded building across the street during the day, but they didn't bother anyone. Apartment was clean, quiet, all amenities such as the air conditioning, internet, television, shower- worked great. Lots of clean towels, sheets, blankets provided. Stove worked-no oven avaiilable. Had an ironing board-no iron available. Bedroom with full bed- very nice. The futons were in a small area but cozy and clean and comfortable. Would stay there again if we returned to Puerto Rico.

Amazing!

My boyfriend and I stayed in Apt for a week. We are New Yorkers from Brooklyn, and Miramar area was so bike friendly. We were able to bike to the beach in few minutes, there is a bike path to Old San Juan. In the night the area is quite but a block a way there is a strip of local restaurants with different food options. Lourdes as an amazing host! We will definitely recommend this cozy apartment with a beautiful garden. We will always remember our outdoor tropical breakfasts in the patio.

Wonderful apt in a great neighborhood!

I lived in this apartment from October 2012 to late May 2013. The apartment is wonderful for a single professional or student travelling. The owner Sofia and her mom Lourdes are absolutely great at taking care of you while you are here. They are quick to attend to any problems that may arise. The apartment is located in a hidden gem of a neighborhood in San Juan called Miramar. It's a very quiet, professional, well established neighborhood with mostly older quiet families residing there. Lots of up and coming restaurants in the area as well. Must eat at Casita Miramar, a short walk from the apt. The apartment is on a busy corner with a bus stop nearby but that never really bothered me having lived in a city before. The building itself is a beautifully renovated multi-unit apt building with gated parking and very quiet respectful neighbors. It is literally 5 minutes from Condado, Old San Juan, and even the Bacardi Factory. Very convenient location if you are driving. I will definitely look at staying here when I come visit Puerto Rico! I already miss the beaches!
