"This is an absolute gem of a place. It is truly stunning (as others have said photos do not show how amazing it is). The pool is huge, the garden’s beautiful and everything is very good quality and tastefully done. River walk/run from back of property to Amarante really beautiful too but you won’t want to leave the house!"

"Le site est superbe, la maison très originale et vivante. On se sent vraiment dans une maison de vacances familiale. La chambre principale est très belle, par contre les 2 autres chambres sont petites et plus difficiles à ventiler. Un couple avec des enfants c’est parfait. À 2 couples c’est moins idéal. La maison est très complète et nous avons même eu du mal à la quitter pour faire des visites aux alentours tellement nous étions confortables."

"This place and the staff here are AMAZING! I can’t say anything negative. REALLY! Stay here. And stay for two days longer than whatever you’re planning. And the breakfast across the street at the LaiLai restaurant… epic. It is not a lame hotel breakfast. It’s made to order. It’s got balcony seating overlooking the river. And the staff there are amazing too. Shout out to Rita, front desk and concierge at the hotel. She was amazing, responsive, and even rescued us from a failed uber attempt 30 minutes from the hotel late at night."

"We loved Casa do Fontao, we had just spent a month travelling in Europe with a really busy schedule and we enjoyed 4 nights in Amarante at Casa do Fontao. The place is lovely, it's immaculately kept and the front of house team are just friendly and nice and nothing is too much trouble for them. I would score it 10/10, if you want a peaceful comfortable stay in a luxurious hotel with excellent privacy I would strongly recommend it"

"We were greated with a visit of the premises. You have access to the kitchen and the fridge, small private pool and lounge chairs in front and rear of the building that was appreciated. Access to the premises is in a locked gate making you feel very secure. Breakfast was included. Staff was so friendly that they were always available to answer your questions and talk about the Portugaise culture. Wasn’t disappointed of our stay. Thank you."

"We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful property. Olga and Paulo were incredible hosts! They took the time to ensure we had everything we needed and answer our questions about the property and local town. This cottage was exactly what we expected. Quiet, well supplied and with absolutely gorgeous views. It was a perfect location to visit several small towns in the local area and to rest and recharge. I HIGHLY recommend this property! "
