The house smelled like sewage and the heat did not work. I let the owner know and he replied that it is a really old house and it does not have much insulation. He said he would supply more blankets. We slept in our coats all night. Also they were late for check in because the house cleaners car broke down. So check in was delayed by a half hour. He did give us a 50 credit. Thought it should have been more.
We really enjoyed our stay here! The location was close to the riverwalk (5 min drive) and a ton of other fun attractions. The only drawback was how close to the highway and train the house was to the house which made it a bit louder than expected but not enough to make us not go back. The house was clean and well stocked and honestly once of the nicest VRBO's I've stayed in. The swim spa was a great perk of this place and despite having a minor issue working it (operator error LOL; a guide to operate it would have been nice and is something we suggested to the owner for future guests) when we first arrived, the host Brandon was on top of it. Overall this was a great, safe location that my boyfriend and I really enjoyed while visiting San Antonio!

When we first arrived, we noticed the trash was full and the back gate was broken, but this was no big deal. The stairs for the spa in the back had been broken and had to be put together and there were pieces of the spa laying around the back yard, we weren’t sure if the wind played a part in this or previous guests. Once inside, we noticed a slight odor of what we believed to be raw sewage emitting from the house. Being the house is older, we kind of got used to smell and tried to get past it, but as the night went on, the smell became stronger and unbearable and somewhat hazardous as my wife started to become nauseous from the smell. My wife had also done some research and found a review that someone had complained of this before but we had overlooked that review apparently. We noticed the smell was much stronger after everyone had showered which led us to believe there is a serious problem with the plumbing in the house. We also noticed the spa, the whole reason we chose this place to stay, didn’t completely heat, it didn’t get as hot as we liked. This could be user error, but I found it to be pretty self explanatory. We tried to stick it out, but the smell is what pushed us out and we had to leave. This was a huge inconvenience as now we were rushing around trying to find something else on short notice that was affordable. What made it worse was we had to wait until the next day to figure out whether we could even get our money back so we could go somewhere else. We didnt
