We really enjoyed our stay at the Guadalupe River Retreat house. It was roomy, clean and the view was excellent. Everything we needed was there and the host checked on us after we arrived to see if there was anything we needed.
House was clean, comfortable, quiet and had everything needed. Location, on the fiver, is amazing. Property manager was helpful and quick to respond. Great Job!
The best hill country property at which I've stayed. Conveniently close to Boerne, yet also providing peaceful solitude. The property has a river-facing brace of windows that allows contemplation of a pristine stretch of the Guadalupe River. An outstanding place to stay.
We had a great time during our stay. It was remarkably quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed watching the birds and the Axis herd that came through almost every morning.
The views!!!! Spotless house, everything we needed to make breakfast and a steak dinner, awesome fire pit, you can hear the river running so peaceful, beautiful heard of Sika deer graze by the river...did I mention the views??? We had an awesome time.
Loved the property. The walk down to the river was too steep for us but the sounds of te water running was a nice soundtrack to relaxing on the deck and watching the birds and the deer. The house was spotless and well appointed. Great kitchen and living area. Will definitely be back!
The house is amazing. You are instantly greeted by a glorious view of nature in it's finest!! The river was very low due to summer in Texas providing no rain. BUT, we enjoyed sitting and watching nature wake up each morning, and go to bed each evening. Young deer, playing, running, and jumping! Young bucks, mature near trophy whitetail, and even a beautiful axis buck. Saw some bobcats, and so many different birds! Incredibly peaceful!
Wonderful, relaxing 4 day weekend. The kitchen was very well appointed and we made full use for several meals. We woke up one morning to 15 wild turkeys outside that hung around the property most of the day - way cool. We loved the river - skipped rocks, did a little mini tubing, and caught some little fish (no keepers). The house had a great selection of games stocked. We finished one jigsaw puzzle and almost completed a second. There are a whole lot of thistle type stickers to walk through to get to the river in March. One suggestion would be to maintain a path that would make that trek much more enjoyable in sandals. It was a great location with the ideal setup for our family. Thanks for sharing your hill country getaway!
We had a great time. The only problem was that we had hoped that we would have been able to go down to the river at our rental property; however the trail down was much too steep and access to the river was not possible.
We absolutely loved this home and the proximity to the river! It was so peaceful to make a fire in the fire pit at night, and listen to the birds in the morning. We had a minor issue in the home when we arrived, and we received prompt and helpful attention. Everything was just beautiful and well cared for. We would definitely stay here again.
Great property, everything we needed in this wonderful home!
Thank You so Much for sharing it! Right on the river, open living, the two decks were wonderful!
We watched the most beautiful rain storm over the ridge of the river!
Don't hesitate rent now!
Fantastic! Beautiful home. We loved listening to the river from the porch and watching wildlife, including White-tailed and axis deer, wild turkeys, and a bobcat. We heard birds not common where we live: canyon wren, screech owl, etc. We hope to visit again with family.
This house was more than I thought it was going to be. It was just perfect for the weekend getaway myself, husband, kids and dogs needed. The view is so serene and the house was beautiful. At night we enjoyed sitting by the fire pit and listening to the sounds of nature. Spencer was always so responsive with any questions we had. We cannot wait to rent this house again this summer. Thank you for everything!!!
The house is amazing. Like staying in a 5-star hotel. The linens, towels, furniture, kitchen…everything was perfection!
If you’re traveling with someone in a wheelchair, this house is handicapped accessible!! The doors are plenty wide enough. The master bedroom and bathroom are perfect for someone on a walker or in a wheelchair! The shower is a roll-in and is huge!
We will definitely come back!
We have a large group and our children range from 6-26 and there was something for everyone to do. We relaxed at the river, our children found some of the deeper holes and even a rope swing. We caught minnows, skipped rocks, played board games and card games, watched movies, cooked and ate a lot, enjoyed the wildlife from the huge windows in the home, made smores by the fire, and my personal favorite was the jacuzzi tub which I never wanted to get out of. We have all agreed we want this to be our annual getaway!
