"I like Marinwood Inn. It is fairly quiet, even though it's near the 101 highway. The meandering quality of the buildings feels kind of homey. The staff is great, too."

"Lovely decor; fascinating collection of maps, posters & old photographs. On the Main Street so you can walk everywhere in town. Spotlessly clean. Pretty outdoor dining space. Very helpful staff. Delicious breakfast. Looking forward to coming back…."
"This is my favorite hotel in San Rafael. I often travel with my medium sized dog and they are very welcoming and gave us a great room with a private fenced patio. The rooms have names and individual characteristic decorations. I always get a room with a private bathroom and it is well equipped with coffee maker, microwave and refrigerator with a small sink for washing up. I am looking forward to the day they open their restaurant again. It is easy walking distance to the local park and downtown San Rafael. The staff is very friendly and the room always clean."
"This was a great spot for our stay in San Rafael! We loved that we could walk to shops and restaurants. Street parking was easy. Kitchen is well provisioned. The host was friendly and responsive. We appreciated all the amenities provided for young children!"
"Stayed with my wife and two adult children for a wedding in the redwoods. The place is very nice, comfortable, clean and convenient. Easy walk to grocery, coffee and into San Anselmo for dining!"
