Great stay in Samara

Excellent location, walking distance to beach and lots of restaurants/bakeries. Very comfortable property that made it a great place to chill on rainy evenings.

There were seven of us for the stay and we never felt crowded. The layout is nice, the A/C works great. The location is perfect. You have two grocery stores literally next-door. An amazing bakery around the corner and the beach is a two minute walk. The pool was clean and refreshing. One of the nice surprises we found was that there are beach chairs, umbrellas and a wagon which we used every day. Came in handy for hauling our younger grandchildren and all the stuff we took to the beach. If you’re coming to Samara, this is the VRBO to get. It was great.

Fabulous, met all our needs and more. Pool, beach close to everything, groceries and restaurants. Right in town but lots of space and privacy. We loved this and would come back without hesitation. We had everything one would want, beach toys, chairs, boogie boards and ice

Great Stay!

This was our 3rd time in Samara, and we loved this location! Right in the middle of everything and no need for a car. Short walk to the beach and restaurants and groceries. Everything inside was comfortable and clean and spacious! Communication was great - can't wait to go back! Thank you!

Nice spot and. Lean and homey only down side pool isn't as nice as pictures look its still a good size just in a feild and no spot to sit outside. But the place had everything you needed and was comfy beds and great location. I would stay there again

Great spot in Samara

This was a great place to stay in Samara! Spacious, clean, comfortable and close to everything Samara has to offer. Owner and property manager were very kind and accommodating. There was loud music playing at a nearby bar on Saturday night but the music stopped by 10pm and the rest of the nights were quiet. We would definitely stay there again!

Nice stay in the middle of the city!

Love the location and the place is comfortable. Be aware there is a night club a few doors down that play insanely loud music at 2 AM. NOT the owners fault but the town need to stop it. We love Samara can can't wait to come back.

Great home!

We loved this vrbo in Samara! The location is the best. We have been to Samara twice and being in the middle of the town is convenient. Our friends stayed in an upper unit at this condo, and it was much louder in the evenings/nights. Ours however good. We slept great! House has all the things you could need for your vacation in Samara!

Wonderful rental

We appreciated the communication received, ease of finding things, prompt response to questions and comfort provided. Only problem we had was with customs on arrival when we didnt know the address. We had Paul's directions printed and there really didnt seem to have an address, but they seemed satisfied with 'Casa Jr.' Thanks for a lovely holiday!

Clean, spacious, and conveniently located

This property is conveniently located to all that Samara has to offer. It is clean and quite spacious. Off-street parking. Owner and PM were easy to deal with and responsive. Note that there is considerable noise in the unit from the street and adjacent bars/restaurants until around 10pm.

Great value, surprisingly quiet for being right in the heart of Samara

The condo is very spacious, 3 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. Very fast low latency and stable internet. Was able to work remotely w/ VPNs and had no issues. Well stocked kitchen. Washer and dryer worked great. Good security with locked gates and Tico style locking outer door, bars on windows, outside lights. Grocery store right next to the building, 2 minute walk. Overall a good choice for larger groups that want to be in the heart of the Samara action and walking close to the beach.

Family-friendly and great location

The apt was in a convenient location, just a short 5 min walk to the beachfront, many restaurants and a grocery store next door. There was a fully-equipped kitchen, washer and dryer, and things for the beach (towels, chairs, umbrellas), which made it a great stay for our family with young kids. The things that could have been better were the showers (couldn't really get any hot water, although we didn't need it so much and the shower heads seemed to spray everywhere) and the community pool, which was indicated in the description, didn't seemed to be cleaned/maintained at all (some animal poop, horse?) was near the pool for our whole stay.

Outstanding apartment right downtown steps from the beach, restaurants, and grocery

This apartment was absolutely perfect for us. The pictures don't do it justice. It's very clean and very big. The kitchen is very spacious and the bedrooms are a great size. We stayed there with 3 kids -- ages 7, 5, and 18 months and it was a perfect spot for us. It's very quiet at night even though it's right downtown. There are 2 large groceries within 2-3 minutes walk. It's surrounded by great restaurants and shops and a very short walk to the beach. Small but private pool that we used everyday. Owner is very responsive and helpful. We will definitely request to stay in this apartment again the next time we visit. Highly recommend staying here.

Clean, great location, strong reliable wifi

Our whole family thoroughly enjoyed our month in Sámara. Our arrival at the Casa Jr. was seamless; instructions for access were clear and the place was spotless. The condo has tons of room and the pictures are an accurate reflection of actual size. The kitchen is well stocked with all necessities to cook at the condo and it's within a 2 minute walk of the three main grocery stores. The walk to the beach is less than 2 minutes, and tons of restaurant and shopping options nearby. With two young children we were also grateful for the pool when nap times limited our beach-time. We were also very impressed by the wifi. It was reliable and fast the whole time allowing us to use Zoom for work without issue. Overall, the outside of the condo property is starting to show it's age a bit and could use some maintenance and updating (pool missing tiles, lights around pool and pergola broken, etc.). But, nothing that affected our enjoyment of the property and we had a great time overall! Thank you for a great place to call home base!

This was the perfect home for our 3 week stay!

My family of 6 really enjoyed this space. It was exactly as portrayed online. The home is walking distance to everything: the beach, restaurants, grocery stores, the Samara Info Center (which helped us to arrange a couple of excursions), and the Intercultural Language School that we attended. The back bedrooms face the main street, but the street noise was not a problem at night. Our stay was during the rainy season, and a downpour hitting the skylight in the hallway could be quite loud. We never once heard the upstairs or next-door neighbors. Overall, we had no complaints about noise. The host and property manager were extremely helpful and quick to respond. This turned out to be extremely important, as I broke a bone in my foot on the first day we arrived. They were able to help me arrange transport to a clinic where I had x-rays taken and received a cast. They even helped me find a wheelchair to rent for the rest of our stay. The wi-fi was reliable, which was also important since I spent some time working remotely. I only had to reset the router a couple times during our 3-week stay and the wi-fi was back up within a couple minute each time. All in all we found the people of Samara in general to be very kind, laid back, and friendly. Should we have the opportunity to return we would be more than to happy stay on this property again.

Located a very short walk from the beach, this condo is also near the town's shops, restaurants and activity, but is tucked around a corner at the back of the courtyard, so is quiet and private. The 3-bedroom unit is immaculate and much better and more thoughtfully equipped than most condos. Things like an ice maker, blender, plenty of kitchen tools and a barbecue by the pool make cooking in a pleasure - think grilled fish and margaritas for dinner or a fresh papaya smoothie for breakfast. Each room has its own air conditioning unit, so the temp can be adjusted to individual preferences. There's a washer/dryer and plenty of towels, bed linens and amenities that add up to a really nice stay. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms good-sized. The décor is very nice with local artwork on the walls and some good guidebooks as well as games. The living room is large enough for a medium-sized group and a good-sized table to fit the condo's capacity. The pool was very nice and well-kept up. Samara Beach is great. A long white beach ringed by trees that provide shade and a wide choice of beachside restaurants. The water is wonderfully warm and some sections have enough wave action for body surfing and board surfing while other sections are more protected and good for families with small children. When we were there, visitors included plenty of Costa Ricans as well as foreign tourists. The whole scene was more muted than some of the Pacific Coast's more touristy, frenetic towns. In the evening a walk to have a nightcap at a cafe by the shore and to enjoy the stars was perfect, quiet and felt very safe. We went horseback riding on the beach and also rented kayaks, paddling in the bay where we saw a sea turtle feeding. Our hosts clearly cared that we were well taken care of and provided everything we could wish for. It was a lovely and memorable stay.

Sámara central location

If you want to be right in the middle of it all and just a few blocks from the beach-this is your place! Plenty of room to spread out, even more than we needed for our family of 4! Restaurants and grocery store within a few steps of the condo. Once we got there, we were able to park our car and not use it again till we left! Definitely not a quiet place though, lots of noise from the street traffic and loud motorcycles zooming by. We had a few rainy days and appreciated the umbrellas and other beach stuff they supplied. Showers were nice and hot but worked better when not trying to use both at the same time ;) Paul gave us all the info including very helpful directions since the streets aren’t exactly clearly marked like in the US. The gate out front was never closed so it seemed as though people and horses would come and go through the yard but it really didn’t bother us. Kitchen was fully stocked for making meals, but definitely well used-appliances could use some updating. Appreciated the coffee and spices provided. So convenient to have a hose out front to rinse all the sand off after coming back from the beach! We are already talking about a return visit and would definitely stay again!
