We really enjoyed our stay at Spenceville Farm. The front porch had wide ranging views and was great for bird watching. The interior of the farmhouse was comfortable and well-equipped with hardwood floors throughout. The hosts were very accommodating and provided great information about the area. We can recommend highly The Museum of the Middle Appalachians and the Well Fields (inland marsh area) in Saltville, the VA Creeper trail in Abingdon, and Grayson Highlands State Park. We hope to come back!
We were in town for a wedding. The view was breathtaking. Quiet location set atop 300 acres of beautiful farmland. Plenty of sleeping quarters for our entire party of 12. Clean, comfortable and good WiFi. Terrific communication with the owners. You can order firewood and starters which they even delivered. No doubt if we’re ever in that area again we will make sure to book this hidden gem!
This was our 2nd annual motorcycle ride with two of our dear friends!! We chose Spenceville Farms as our central location to leave each day for our 2 wheeled journeys including VA, TN and NC. Our stay at Spenceville Farms was perfect for the 4 of us, with each one having a bedroom upstairs. We enjoyed our mornings sitting on the front porch sipping our coffee as well as talking a walk on the property! It was a perfect peaceful get-a-way!!
We came here to relax and get away from it all and it was the perfect place to do just that! The mountains surrounding the farmhouse are simply stunning. We had plans to travel different places to hike, but we didn’t end up leaving the house at all for hiking. Why would we? You can hike around this beautiful place and there’s no other people in sight! No crowds, so peaceful and the porch swing bed was heaven! The house itself was beautiful too and had everything we needed.
Our intention was to disconnect and get away from the "hustle & bustle" of city life, and boy did it work out! What a beautiful and peaceful retreat! The views are amazing, and the house is so comfortable and tasteful! We loved sitting on the porch swing while drinking coffee in the morning, and star gazing at night. The dogs loved chasing frisbees and running free. The kids (and parents) were super excited to find plenty of games and even a closet full of legos! We loaded the house with food and cooked almost all of our meals in the well equipped kitchen. We even stayed one whole day in the house without leaving, doing arts and crafts at the table. When we did venture out, we loved that there were several state parks and other attractions close by. We visited Hungry Mother State Park, Bristol VA/TN, Grayson Highlands, and Big Walker Lookout. Highly recommend.
We all had a wonderful stay here. The amazing view can't be beat. We loved this peaceful, relaxing property, and we hope to return again in the future!
The farm was a great place to get away and relax. The views were great and the sunsets were amazing! It was convenient to several great hikes. The owners were also great to communicate with.
Perfect getaway. We also worked a lot during it, and the internet signal was strong enough to do Zoom meetings and otherwise connect to the internet to do work. Highly recommend this place for families.
Our group loved staying at this beautiful farm. The views were stunning, and the home itself was so beautiful and was able to fit all of us that were staying together for a family reunion. We only wished we could have stayed longer! It's a peaceful spot with all the amenities we needed!
House is beautiful, well stocked and furnished. Beautiful views. Can’t beat the area for a mountain vacation. Owners were great to work with. Highly recommended
We took the kids to get away, and get away is exactly what we did! Very relaxing surroundings, gorgeous views and great house with everything you need.
We had a nice stay at this beautiful property. The house was clean, very nice, and just as described in the listing. Diane was very responsive and check in / check out was smooth and easy.
This farmhouse is just perfect. The view from that front porch is just amazing. This was our second time here and I can definitely see many more in the coming years.
The property is absolutely delightful. Love the views, love the fire pit, house is super cozy. Wifi is almost nonexistent so prepare your group ahead of time so there are the right expectations. Host are very accommodating. Really enjoyed our stay.
We were looking for a quick weekend get away so the kids could see the snow this year. This farm house was amazing and everything we could have imagined. Beautiful mountainside views, many hills to sled on, a warm fire, hot cocoa and smores. Even the dog had a great time roaming the snowy hills and chasing the kids around the mountain.
