Beautiful country retreat
What a gorgeous setting for a New York vacation! The Summer Fox Home was our first 3 day stop as we toured the east side of the Hudson Valley! All agreed that 3 days wasn’t enough time at this beautiful and peaceful horse ranch. The host, Rebecca, was extremely helpful and resourceful offering suggestions to our group. A welcome treat was a chilled bottle of wine along with delicious cheese and crackers! We highly recommend the Summer Fox Home for anyone who wants a heavenly getaway. No doubt, this was our favorite!

Peaceful spot for a fall getaway
The property was exactly as advertised. Very quiet, peaceful, beautiful location. Nice ammenities were provided by the owners. We went to the NYS Sheep and Wool festival. The location was ideal to reach the Duchess county fairgrounds for the event in 20 minutes and no bridge to cross so no bridge traffic delays. We and our lab loved walking the grounds. We would definitely stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay at the Salt Point Guest House. The house was clean, but a little dated; however that’s what was charming about it. The property is beautiful and the communication I had with the owner was great. The one thing they need to do is trim the trees along the driveway. The branches were hanging low and scratched up the roof on our rental car. Other then that, it was darn near perfect.

Very nice stay
Lovely property with fields and horses nearby The house is older and we had some trouble getting interior doors to shut properly and I wish there had been railing for steps into the front door for my elderly Mom but otherwise it was just wonderful. Owner was very communicative and the wine and cheese were very much appreciated after a long and arduous journey.

Set in the rolling hills of Dutchess County, this Airbnb is a wonderful place for a quiet weekend. Upon entering the grassy driveway, one passes fenced pastures with horses in the distance. The Airbnb is set between forest and pastures. There is plenty of parking and easy access to the house. The main level has a living area with adjoining kitchen. A door will access the back deck that looks over Norfolk pine and deciduous forest. There is a grill on the back deck for use. Inside, the bedrooms are accessed with a few steps to the second floor. Three spacious bedrooms are available as well as a full bath. The other full bath is located on the lower level adjoining a spacious family room with fireplace, tv, and door to the garage. The owners live a quarter mile from the house and are readily available for any concerns. Rebecca is happy to show you the barn and horses which is a great treat! As an added delight, renters are greeted with cheese, crackers, and a bottle of local wine. One has so many options with the location of the house. You can just relax. Or, within a short drive, see the FDR house, FDR Presidential Library, Eleanor Roosevelt’s cottage, and the Culinary Institute of America. Note: if you want to eat at the CIA, be sure to make your reservations well in advance! West Point Military Academy is about an hour’s drive south, well worth the visit. There are also wonderful restaurants in the area (Eveready Diner and Cafe Les Baux). You will love staying here!

Relaxing surroundings on a working horse farm.
Beautiful surroundings on a horse farm. The owner was very gracious, gave us a tour of the property and was very tuned into our needs. The interior of the home could use refreshing, i.e. painting, and there should be handrails on the stairs inside and out. Overall, I would definitely recommend. A plus was that we were greeted with wine, cheese and crackers upon our arrival. A nice touch!

Fabulous Farmhouse
We truly enjoyed our time at Summer Fox Farm. The property itself is beautiful and great for a walk/run. The house was vintage, well-kept and as advertised. Importantly, it was well stocked with condiments, coffee, even wine and cheese as a house warming gift. Beds were comfy, although (parent-warning) walls between bedrooms are thin. Wifi is rural speed (aka slow) but mobile works fine. We plan to return again and again as our child finished the CIA.

This home had the perfect accommodations for my family of 6. We attending wedding events in Stanfordville on Friday and Saturday night and Rebecca, our hostess, recommended a very reliable livery service for the 20 minute drive. The house was clean, comfortable and quiet. Grocery store and Dunkin Donuts was about a 15 minute drive. Nice stay, thanks!

Wonderful & Peaceful Stay
My husband, 5 year old son and I stayed on this beautiful horse farm for 4 nights and had a wonderful time. The host was extremely hospitable, making time to give us a tour of her farm and teaching us about the surrounding area. My son loved the horses and walking around the property. We enjoyed it so much that we planned another trip to the Summer Fox Hollow Farm guest house this summer. We would definitely recommend this wonderful getaway!

An idyllic getaway
Summer Fox Farm is a miraculous setting of open skies, expansive pastures and deafening silence, especially because it is less than an hour and a half from the density of NYC. We were there for over two weeks at the end of August, and we spent the sunny days walking the trails and enjoying the vista of the Hudson valley, and the cool evenings on the deck. The central air conditioning was particularly welcome on the few days we had August weather. Rebecca was a thoughtful host and we were greeted on arrival with a warm note, a bottle of chilled wine and a selection of local cheeses. She was responsive to questions and small issues we encountered, and she sprang into action when a storm left a minor flood in the basement, and everything was solved the next day. This was an idyllic get away after the chaotic spring and summer. A note for guests with mobility concerns (or like us, an old dog!): there are two short flights of hard wood steps in the house and the one to the lower level is quite steep with no hand rail.

Could not have asked for more, everything was perfect!
We had a lovely time staying at this home. Unlike some rental places which can be a little basic, this place was beautifully decorated and felt very homey. The linens were nice, plenty of towels on hand, and a well-stocked kitchen pantry with plenty of basics on hand like oils, spices and good pots and pans. The hosts were great, we enjoyed a welcome bottle of wine with cheese and crackers which was very thoughtful. The layout was great for us, we were two families each with a 15 year old son. They enjoy sharing a bedroom and we each had a nice size bedroom with a comfortable bed. The basement was fully furnished and was a great gaming room for the boys. We enjoyed cooking and savoring leisurely meals in the house with beautiful views all around. Coffee on the deck in the morning is a wonderful way to kick off a day in the Hudson. From the house there is a short walk up a trail to a beautiful spot with Adirondack chairs, a fire pit and stunning views. Highly recommend it.

Great House for Hudson Valley Wedding
We were in the area for a family wedding. We had 5 adults, and it was a perfect place for us to stay in between all the events. In addition to everything in the listing, there was set of speakers we were able to use to listen to some great music while getting ready. Rooms were comfortable and everyone had a great time. I would definitely stay here again for a long weekend with friends and family!

Perfect upstate getaway...
If you're looking for a beautiful and quiet place to escape for a weekend upstate this is it! The farmhouse is a perfect blend of modern and rustic with flowers, pastures, trees and wildlife surrounding the property. The horse farm is perfectly manicured but still feels like a working farm. Owner Rebecca goes out of her way to provide small touches of hospitality the make the entire experience just right. She graciously gave our daughters a special tour of the barns and carrots for the horses. The location is ideal - 10-12 miles from everything; Rhinebeck, Millbrook, CIA dining, numerous hikes and the river. We'll be back!

This was our second time at this property, as it super convenient to a friend's house party. The house is really clean and very nicely decorated and on a beautiful place of land. We'll be back!

Charming house, quiet location
We spent 4 nights here. Due to a lot of rain, we spent a lot of time at the property with our daughter and her husband. We did enjoy a brief time on the deck, saw the horses from the living room window, wild turkeys in the yard, and took a walk around the farm. Everything was in working order and the decorating was lovely. The owner had provided a New York bottle of Chardonnay chilling in the fridge along with assorted crackers and cheeses. The Fireside BBQ and Grill was only a 6 minute drive from the property which made it easy for a quick and yummy dinner on a rainy night. The property sits quite a way off a rural road; a very quiet setting which we loved. If we were to visit this area of Dutchess County again, we would definitely consider staying here.

Gorgeous setting, immaculate house, very private but close to the Hudson Valley activities.
A lovely driveway past horse paddocks leads to the house, which sits in a beautiful, private setting surrounded by fields and woods. You are minutes from the Culinary Institute, Walkway over the Hudson, Millbrook Winery and so many other activities, but surrounded by peace and quiet. You do not see the road or even another house. The house is bright, airy and uncluttered with beautiful new furniture. This house is well equipped and is a true guest house (i.e. not a house that has someone else's clothes or things stored in parts of it). It is wonderful to sit on the deck and watch for deer, foxes, turkeys and hawks. The horses often come over the hill to graze in the paddock just beyond the front yard of the house. The owners encourage you to walk the trails through the woods or fields. Be sure to head to the top of the hill to see one of the most spectacular vistas in the county. The owners are also happy to give you a tour of the barn, introduce you to the horses or provide you with farm fresh eggs from the chickens. From the moment you step through the door, you are treated as a special guest, with welcome refreshments and a quick response to any inquiry. This guest house deserves the consensus five star reviews it has received. We would highly recommend staying here.

Very comfortable home on a beautiful horse farm. Convenient to many Hudson Valley attractions.
My wife and I, along with our 2 adult daughters, stayed here for a weekend trip to the Hudson Valley. The house was immaculate, comfortable and well appointed. The location allows for easy access to Hyde Park, Rhinebeck, Millerton and more. The property is as private as it is beautiful, and we enjoyed seeing (and petting) the horses as they grazed in the nearby paddock. The owners were very nice and responsive, ready with good advice from worthwhile destinations to recommended running routes. We felt at home as soon as we walked through the door and read their welcome note. We highly recommend staying here.

Secluded country home close to Hyde Park attractions
This is a very nice home located off a recessed driveway on a horse farm. If you want to get away from everything, this is the place to be. The home is well kept and the owners are very nice. It’s about a 15 minute drive from the FDR house, the Vanderbilt house, and the Culinary Institute of America. When you are in the home, not only do you not see any neighbors, you don’t hear anyone either. The bedrooms are roomy and clean. The kitchen has everything you need. The living areas had plenty of room. We only saw the farm’s horses once out of windows during our 5 day stay. The wifi was pretty slow, and the television only had Apple TV. Overall, we would recommend this home to anyone visiting the Hyde Park area or just wanting some time away from everything.
