The best time to visit Salapitos is during the dry season, which runs from May to October.During these months, the weather is generally sunny and dry, with cooler mornings and evenings, making it very comfortable for safari activities. The lack of rain means that animals congregate around the permanent water sources of the Salapitos River, making them easier to spot. This period also sees less dense vegetation, further improving visibility. For travellers keen on wildlife viewing, particularly those hoping to see large concentrations of elephants and other big game, the peak dry season from July to September is ideal. The river acts as a magnet for animals seeking water, offering excellent opportunities for game drives and boat safaris. If you prefer slightly milder temperatures and fewer crowds, the shoulder months of May, June, and October are also wonderful.
