What is the best area to stay in Saint-Augustin?
The best area to stay in Saint-Augustin is along the main beach, particularly around the northern end where the river meets the sea.

This area offers direct access to the beach, which is popular for swimming and boat trips. You'll find a selection of accommodation options here, from simpler guesthouses to more established lodges. The main activities, such as arranging fishing excursions or dhow trips, are often organised from this stretch of coastline.

When is the best time to go to Saint-Augustin?
The best time to go to Saint-Augustin, Madagascar, is during the dry season, which runs from May to November.

This period sees less rainfall and cooler temperatures, making it ideal for exploring the natural beauty and local culture without the disruption of heavy downpours. The weather is generally sunny and pleasant, superb for outdoor activities.

For those planning to enjoy the beaches and water activities, the months of September to November offer particularly good conditions with warm waters and clear skies. This is also a good time for wildlife spotting, as many species are more active and visible.
