Holiday Homes in Saint-Amandin

"Stayed here for a week in June/July. Even during the very hot weather the downstairs of the gite was very cool. The gite was well equipped and comfortable. It's isolation ensures you have a great view of the night sky but can be a long drive from the main roads due to the winding roads. My suggestions may be for a fan in the bedroom as on a warm evening it can get quite hot upstairs. Overall we had a great time during our one week stay here and would recommend it."

"We really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful place. The house is set on a sloped garden with beautiful views to all sides off tree lined pastures. A couple of friendly cows add to the picture and do not disturb the tranquility of the place. The house is immense with four closed bedrooms and a multitude of other sleeping areas, three sitting rooms, two kitchens, two laundry rooms and three bathrooms. "We had a warm and friendly welcome, helped by our ability to speak French (Paul and Genevieve admit that they have very little English!). Be prepared with provisions and fuel when you arrive as the nearest shops are some distance away and likely to be closed at inconvenient times (for the English at least!). The only road into the village (3 houses!) is long and very narrow, testing the driver's manoeuvring skills in the unlikely event of on-coming traffic. We arrived at the start of Autumn with...

"Pretty house, well equipped and attractively fitted out, the perfect setting for our wonderful holiday. M. and Mme Mazieres are a delight, very welcoming hosts. We spent a lot of time relaxing in the garden, watching/listening to the many birds and insects, with the beautiful mountains in close view. The pretty village is a quite steep stroll down and back up to the house, about a kilometre each way, we oldies (mid-seventies) enjoyed the walk!"
