Ringo Jam is great. Walkable to ski lifts; attentive and fun staff; delicious and varied breakfast. It’s a gem In Madarao.

The property is very dated with no lift only stairs. Basic 3 star and in need of a re fit. Staff were good

I wish I could give more than 5 starts in every category. Yuki, Yukiko, and David were all incredible. I booked this thinking it would be a nice hotel/ryokan and left with tears of joy, warmth, and happiness. The team here was so hospitable that this is also an understatement. This is a small business so it doesn't feel corporate but as if you are in their home (in the best of ways). Beyond this, I haven't slept on a more comfortable bed and pillow in ages. The linens were so soft and crisp. I would be so happy to return in the future.

Super friendly staff and very helpful with providing information. The room is decent nothing outstanding, so is the public bath in the basement. But this place is quite convenient to an izakaya just few minutes away foot and also a local small onsen. The staff made this place worth it.

Hotel Hanabun was a great ryokan experience! It is nestled in the mountains offering a peaceful getaway from touristy/crowded areas. It had the best onsen water, even the locals went there to bathe! The hosts and staff are all friendly and accommodating to your needs. Google translate was necessary to communicate, but everyone is very patient. The food was incredibly delicious, and they use locally sourced, fresh ingredients. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a cozy ryokan.
