"Great staff and helped me get airport transfers both ways . Was able to get me a tricycle when I needed one I stayed in the Suite which was great value. At the end of a cute street and all the local loved to interact with you. This sounds a little crazy, but if you have spent any time traveling in Asia you will understand; great water pressure and lots of hot water. They went out of the way to get me checked in early. They made me breakfast on both day of arrive and departure"

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Sabtang?
The best areas to stay in Sabtang are along the coast in the villages of Chavayan and Savidug, both offering a look into traditional Ivatan life.

Chavayan is particularly well-known for its well-preserved traditional Ivatan stone houses with cogon grass roofs, many of which are still inhabited. The village is located along a scenic coastline, providing lovely views of the sea. It's a small, quiet community where you can experience the local culture firsthand.

For travellers looking for a peaceful escape and an opportunity to learn about local culture, Chavayan is an excellent choice. You'll find guesthouses and homestays that offer a more personal experience, often with hosts who can share stories about Ivatan customs. The village's isolation adds to its appeal for those seeking a tranquil and authentic visit.

Savidug is another excellent coastal village, also featuring traditional stone houses and offering a glimpse into the Ivatan way of life. It's a bit more spread out than Chavayan but still maintains that close-knit community feel. The village is surrounded by scenic landscapes, including rolling hills and dramatic coastlines.

Couples looking for a romantic and quiet retreat will appreciate Savidug. The serene environment, combined with the unique architecture and friendly locals, creates a memorable experience.
When is the best time to go to Sabtang?
The best time to visit Sabtang is during the dry season, which typically runs from March to May.

This period offers the most pleasant weather for exploring the island's natural beauty and cultural sites. You can expect plenty of sunshine, warm temperatures, and calm seas, which are ideal for boat trips between islands, swimming, and enjoying the beaches. The dry conditions also make trekking to viewpoints and exploring the traditional stone houses in Chavayan and Savidug villages much more comfortable.

Couples looking for a romantic and scenic getaway will find these months particularly appealing. The clear skies and gentle breezes create a ideal setting for enjoying the unique landscapes, from the rolling hills of the Marlboro Country viewpoint to the stunning white sands of Nakabuang Beach, often with fewer crowds than during peak holiday periods.

For those interested in photography, the dry season provides optimal lighting conditions for capturing Sabtang's iconic scenery, including the lighthouses and the distinct architecture of its villages.
