Romantic Forest Cottage near Lake • Sauna, Firepit & Cozy Scandinavian Design

10/10 Excellent
"The cabin is really lovely, in a beautiful setting and very quiet. This place is ideal for some peaceful time in nature. Olga is a wonderful host, considerate and answered all my questions very promptly. There is a beautiful swimming spot just 15 mins walk (or 2 min drive) from the cabin, down Mökinrannantie. There is also a beautiful public swimming spot in Kesalahti at which is a 15 minutes drive - called Sortolampi Beach. All the public swim spots have convenient changing cabins. The shops in Kitee are around 30 mins drive have everything you might need - make sure you check out the Marimekko outlet shop!"

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Saari?
The best area to stay in Saari is the rural countryside surrounding Lake Saari, particularly around the villages of Akonpohja and Järvenkylä.

This region is characterised by its serene natural beauty, with vast forests, clear lakes, and traditional Finnish farmland. Accommodation here often consists of private cottages and villas, many with their own lakeside access, offering a peaceful and private retreat. You'll find plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities right on your doorstep.

Couples looking for a romantic and tranquil escape will find the lakeside cottages especially appealing. Imagine waking up to a quiet lake view, enjoying a private sauna, and perhaps a dip in the lake, followed by an evening barbecue on your terrace. The sense of seclusion and natural beauty makes it an ideal setting for quality time together.

Families will also appreciate the space and freedom offered by accommodation in this area. Many cottages provide ample room for children to play outdoors, and the lakes offer opportunities for swimming, fishing, and boating.
