Hotel Adler

Hotel Adler

10/10 Excellent
"When I originally booked my stay, comments from previous guests described the decor as old and outdated. I found the opposite. The building is old (German poet Schiller once stayed there), but the room was modern throughout with walk in shower and staff very professional and polite. Breakfast was very good, and the hotel is right on the market square in the heart of the city within easy walking distance of everything. A farmer’s market is in the market square in front of the hotel several times a week as well as a stand with Thuringian bratwurst. A tourist info center by the market square next to city hall (Rathaus) was very helpful. I highly recommend the Adler Hotel in Rudolstadt."

This period is superb for enjoying the extensive network of trails, such as those leading to the Saalfeld Fairy Grottoes, or for cycling along the Saale River. You'll find many local cafes and restaurants with outdoor seating, making it easy to relax after a day of exploring.

If you prefer cooler temperatures and fewer crowds, May and September are excellent choices. The landscape is particularly picturesque during these shoulder seasons, with wildflowers blooming in spring and the foliage changing to vibrant colours in autumn.
