"Mixed feelings on this guest house - it was lovely decorated and recently renovated by the owner, who was lovely and super friendly & helpful. Had offered affordable breakfast (500 yen/ person in May 2025) and plenty of shared area spaces - with ability to use glasses / cups / kettle / microwave. Unfortunately I didn’t see during booking that toilet and bathroom are shared for all guests (4-6 rooms, not sure exactly) but luckily we went to bed early and wake up late, so avoided the natural...

"Phenomenal, phenomenal! This was extremely comfortable, wonderful staff, lovely room with a great view of the bay. We saw the fireworks for the Black Ship Festival. "It was amazing. My toddler, friend and I enjoyed the experience. Our building was so beautiful. My friend and I enjoyed the onsens so much. My toddler loved feeding the koi. The futons were pretty comfortable. We used the onsens so many times. My friend liked the outdoor one since it isn't as hot as inside but i didn't mind.
I tried the public bath at night and there were spiders in the room. They were big. It was nice to use too but better if there weren't spiders but it makes sense why they were there.
Food was inconvenient since they didnt have any meals except breakfast which needed a reservation since we came on the off season. I feel like the food would be amazing. There wasnt a lot of food super close and some places closed early but thats only negative oh and at night it isn't too bright walking back to the ryokan. "

"This place was like an old abandoned japanese traditional style house, it’s good for only sleep at night.. The best thing of this property is it near to Shirahama beach which is the best beach in Shimoda in my opinion.. They don’t have parking which was inconvenient.."
