Moonlight Mountain Farm Vermont Studio w Hot Tub Spa Room

Welcome, this is a farmhouse. Our idyllic Farmstay offers a private, modern studio within a beautiful 1840's farmhouse in rural Roxbury, Vermont. Roam our ambling 20 acre property offering a swimming pond, woodland paths and open pastures. Explore the headwaters of the Dog River and power down in the spa room with hot tub. Revel in Vermont's finest skiing, hiking, biking, and beer/food just up and down the road. The studio space is perfectly suited to work from home with great internet speeds (Fiber Optic) for video conferencing and wi-fi calling. See our listing and reviews on the other platform too!

Our sun-soaked studio is an ideal space to unwind, chase down that magnum opus, or reconnect with the one(s) you love. Chef up Vermont fare in the fully-loaded kitchen. Enjoy the upstairs studio shower/bathtub surrounded by earthy slate after an idyllic XC ski or gravel bike right out-the-door. Wander the 20-acre property and say hello to the chickens and sheep. Spacious views and elevated deck out to an undeveloped ridge, overlooking a swimming pond, and up to a big starry sky will have you feeling warm and fuzzy with just how good it all is. Stoke a bonfire, roast marshmallows and belly laugh the night away. Hedonists will not leave the spa room, replete with radiant floor, hot tub, and wet bar. In Vermont, it's all about that sexy, sprawling mudroom; offload and dry the day's gear here and be ready to go again tomorrow. Stream a movie on the large flatscreen. A covered front porch area leading to the mudroom is also ideal to stow skis, bikes, and other adventure gear. Don’t forget your ice skates in the winter, we do our best to keep the pond ready for gliding if the weather presents.

Sleeping: 1 Queen Sized Bed, 1 Queen Pull-Out Couch, 1 Single Pull-Out Couch
Open studio, no walled off bedrooms. It's a cozy sleeping arrangement for friends, or a small family.

Fresh Eggs, Frozen Cider, Grass Fed Lamb, Garden Veggies, Fresh-Cut Flowers for sale upon request - all raised en farm organically with care. Within season, we start you off with a half dozen eggs and flowers gratis.

All this, and the farm is fully solar powered. The studio suite, with its own kitchen and bathroom, is your own private get-away. The studio is connected to the owner's house but interaction with the owners is limited (say hi! but don’t feel obligated to chit chat, unless you want to!). It's possible the homeowners may access the outdoor entryway and mudroom space to fetch firewood/tools. The spa room is yours exclusively to relax and restore in during your stay; the spa room has a bathroom with a shower and toilet. Over a weekend if guests are out, we may perform cleaning service on hot tub. We will make sure to do this at a time when access will not be impeded or delayed. The grounds include pastures, woods, a spring-fed pond and are available to guests for XC skiing, wandering, swimming, and ice skating when conditions are right. Bring your skates! Living and working according to the seasons, you will see us busy on the property growing food, raising animals, and tinkering away on our farmstead. We will often have homegrown fare to share. Chickens and sheep reside on this property; say hello but please do respect electric fencing. We usually have farm fresh eggs, apple cider and grass fed lamb for sale! Just ask.

This studio and the owner's home (2 adults and 1 child) are under the same roof. There are also two big dogs that roam the property and will take you on walks throughout. Bodhi and Oumi. There is also a friendly cat named Ernie that roams the property. For allergy reasons, we do not allow the pets in the studio, but they will be friendly enough that they may try and walk right in. Please refrain despite their cuteness. The studio is located above the owner's personal garage and insulated well from the owner's home that vision/sound is private. The mudroom/foyer is the buffer area between the owner's space and the studio space. The hot tub room is off the mudroom/foyer with windows that look out onto the property and mountains beyond. We are happy to give our recommendations for things to do in the area. We love our little corner of Vermont and are happy to share what we know with visitors. If you have any questions, just give a knock or send a message and we'll do our best to be available to you at your request. We are an environmentally minded family who cherishes our natural resources and beautiful surroundings. Can we be hedonists and conservationists at the same time? Sure we can. Use only what you need when you need it. We ask that guests turn down the heat via the Nest Thermostat in the studio when they leave. Turn off the lights when you're not around and at night. Keep it simple.

We use only natural cleaning products and generally scent-free products, including laundry detergents.

60" SmartTV is great for streaming movies. Most streaming Apps are available (Netflix, Amazon, HBO) for you to login.

Our hot tub is filled with natural spring water. Chlorine and bromine, pH balancers, are used to maintain cleanliness and water balance. For continued freshness throughout your stay, we require that guests shower prior to entering the tub - Every Time. There’s a private shower in the hot tub room to make this step very easy. Please rinse your bathing suits as well so that all soaps and detergents are removed. It's for your own benefit and will make your hot tub experiences all the better. For longer stays, we provide refresher maintenance to check and maintain proper water quality.

It is very apparent when people do not shower before entering the hot tub. The water becomes cloudy and unpleasant. While we drain and clean the hot tub regularly, keeping the water clean via showering is very important.

IF THE HOT TUB REQUIRES A DRAIN AND REFILL DUE TO GUESTS LEAVING THE WATER IN A STATE THAT IS NOT CLEAN ENOUGH FOR THE NEXT GUEST, $250 WILL BE WITHHELD FROM DEPOSIT. This is a very time-consuming and energy-consuming process and particularly unfair to the next guest.

If a guest requests a water change prior to arrival we can accommodate this request for an additional $250. Please provide 3 days' notice vsso that the tub will be hot upon arrival. Set up base-camp here and explore everything in and out of the Mad River and Dog River Valleys. Nearby small farms and community markets a'la Vermont will sate your farm-to-plate hankerings. Norwich University is just 8 miles away. Closest downhill skiing is 8 miles away at Sugarbush with Mad River Glen just another 7 miles down the road. Awesome biking everywhere with gravel grinding right out the door or curated mountain bike single track in Warren, Waitsfield, Northfield, and Randolph; and plenty more networks within a 45 minute drive. Nice central location for a Brewery Tour - Lawson's, Good Measure, Bent Hill, Collaborative just to name a few.

Roxbury is the geographic center of Vermont. When it’s all said and done, you’ll feel warm and happy to have spent time in the heart of the State. Living on the Roxbury Gap is character building in its own. Even though we're up there and out there, our neighbors are the best and quite regularly we all get together to break bread, share stories, and help each other with projects. We all chose to live here because of the natural beauty of the land, clean mountain water, and proximity to the great outdoors.
