This is an older home with older appliances. If that doesn’t bother you then this house is a good place to stay. Good location. Beautiful fall setting.
Nice stay close to the slopes and also nearby hiking! Clean and well kept place. I tuned up the guitar and played some tunes by the fireplace and also the fire pit on the porch. Great location close to town as well. Quiet neighborhood and comfy beds! Perfect spot to relax and kick back. Communication with owner was excellent!
The host was very responsive and helpful. It was very clean and comfortable. It is close to the village, but there aren’t sidewalks which made it a little tricky to walk to dinner when it was dark out. Having the games there made it a fun filled night.
The house was perfect for 2 families! The laundry / mud room was huge and essential for drying snow gear. The bunk bedroom had plenty of space and storage for 4 kids. There was enough seating in the family room as well. We cleaned off the stools on the deck and brought them in around the large square table in the kitchen and there was enough room for 8 people. The two bedrooms upstairs were extremely spacious and comfortable. The location is perfect and only took 3 minutes to drive and to go skiing. The apps on the smart TV worked well. My only suggestion would be downloading more apps on the TV ( I.e. YouTube TV, Hulu, etc)
We enjoyed our stay at the the Bide-a-Wee. The decor is very mid-century modern, which we appreciated. The beds were comfy and clean, and the mudroom with space to hang up and dry all of our ski stuff was a rare treat in VRBO rentals. We had plenty of clean towels, shampoo, conditioner etc, and the kitchen had all the basics we needed. We loved watching the sunrises and sunsets and the kids enjoyed climbing on the rocks out back. Wintergreen was a short drive away, which made dropping off and picking up skiers a breeze. The one down side was communication with the host. I couldn't find any information beyond the basics of door code, check in and out times. The house could use a guest book with details about trails, how to use the fireplace, trash drop, local restaurants etc. I kept having to message the host for details. I had trouble with the electronic door code, which stopped working one night. Response from Airkey was delayed but we found a way in and weren't out in the cold for too long. After we got back, the homeowner followed up looking for a charging block for the speaker, which seems a little nitpicky. One of our teens borrowed the block to charge his phone and forgot to leave it so now I have to mail it back. Kinda a pain for what could be replaced on Amazon for a few dollars but okay. Overall a nice house but could use better communication.
This was the closest location we could find. It was a bit further than we wanted the reason for the lower rating for the location. Outside of that, everything was lovely.
