"Having been to 151 countries, it’s my pleasure to express on Berjaya Makati Hotel, Manila. I have been to Manila 4 times & have spent 25 nights at this hotel. I had a very pleasant time at this centrally located hotel. Very friendly, helpful, respectful, polite, staff, acting instantly & promptly at reception, restaurant, housekeeping & so forth. A very lively lobby. Door keepers play a very active role at the entrance. All guests will be greeted & assisted in the lobby, on steps, footpath & to the cars. Housekeepers are prepared to help anytime without delay. Excellent room service. Buffet breakfast is served in the restaurant where food quality is excellent. Very hardworking & caring staff here. Above all, as the staff was so friendly & hardworking, I can recall some names as Kyla, Len, Shila, Jessica, Anna, Ayie, Azunta, Anjie, Mica, Princess & so forth. "Check in took over 2 hours. The key cards would not work, the hotel had to call in someone to change the door mechanism. It took time for the repair person to arrive, and repair. In the meantime, the front desk would not give us another room, we went for dinner and still had to wait in the lobby for over an hour. No other form of compensation was offered, even when asked. Over our 2 day stay, we had to run down to get the key cards reactivated a few times. The breakfast was fine, room was clean and quite big, but after a 5.5 hour flight (it's 8 pm) you just want to go to your room."
