Dog friendly welcoming classic beach cottage with water views
Summary:
The Cottage by the Sea
The Space:
This warm, inviting and recently renovated Rockaway Beach getaway sits on the west side of Highway 101, just across a quiet street from miles of sandy beach. Perfect for memorable family vacations, this three bedroom cottage is filled with cozy charm and nestled between a natural wetland pond and the ocean in the popular southern area of town. From the moment you first drive up, you'll be charmed by the beachy exterior and big front porch, complete with Adirondack chairs for sitting back and relaxing with a morning cup of coffee!
Once inside, there's ample coastal character, with ship replicas on the mantle, a white paneled ceiling, and seashells decorating the tables; but, you'll also find a touch of traditional style courtesy the oriental rugs and hardwood floors. There's a colorful brick wood fireplace so bring some wood with you, TV with streaming and a DVD player, comfy seating, and room for the whole family to spread out and watch a movie or find their own quiet place to curl up with a good book.
The full kitchen is well-stocked with all the appliances, pots and pans, dishes, cooking utensils, and dinnerware you need to serve a group of hungry beachcombers. Pick up some fresh seafood at the market and whip up a delicious fish dinner in no time! There's even a dishwasher for easy clean-up. The full-sized washer and dryer are also located in the kitchen and ready for your wet beach clothes after a day of exploring.
A formal dining room has ample seating for meals or there's plenty of space on the back deck to have an outdoor feast. Accessed through a glass door from the kitchen, the deck is outfitted with an outdoor table and patio umbrella for shade. After spending the day at the beach, fire up the gas grill and cook up some juicy burgers for a laid-back summer barbecue. And, after the kids have gone to bed, you can spend cool, clear evenings on the deck with a glass of wine.
This home has three bedrooms and one full bath, all located on one level. Two of the bedrooms contain trundle day beds, each with its own collection of colorful throw pillows. With flexibility in mind, these beds can convert into two twin-sized beds, perfect for two younger kids to share a room, or stay as a single twin bed for an older child. These rooms are decorated pleasingly for maximum comfort, with dressers, reading lamps, and soft bedding. The couch in the living room converts to a queen-sized pull-out sofa bed for extra sleeping options.
The third bedroom has a full-sized bed with a cozy comforter, bedside table, reading lamp, and a window that lets in lots of natural light. It has a vintage, vintage-chic feel that will have its occupants feeling soothed and contented in no time. With its three bedrooms, this cute little cottage will sleep everyone comfortably. It's also dog-friendly as well, so bring your furry family member along for some quality time playing in the surf for an additional fee.
While this cottage is definitely welcoming and very comfortable, one of the best features is its prime location. Right off the back patio and yard is a large, natural wetland pond with lily pads, aquatic plants, and other scenic features. A very relaxing afternoon can be had watching the kids play in the back or being on the lookout for great blue herons out in the pond.
With beach access right across the street, you are literally steps from miles of pristine sandy beach. Spend the day building sand castles, flying kites, looking for shells, or simply laying out under a big umbrella. The cottage is also located only a half mile north of one of the most recognizable views in Rockaway Beach: Twin Rocks. Be sure to bring your camera for some stunning sunset pictures starring this geologic feature.
Want a little change from all the peacefulness of your beach cottage? Head about a mile north and hit the quaint downtown area for shops, restaurants, and galleries. Stock up on local saltwater taffy and handcrafted fudge at The Picnic Basket, or maybe start the day with a hearty homemade breakfast at the Whale Spout.
For a fun day trip, drive north up the coast stopping at Wheeler for a little antiquing, Manzanita for lunch at Bread and Ocean, then onto Cannon Beach for an afternoon of hiking in Ecola State Park or gallery-hopping along the picturesque downtown streets.
If you're ready to make some family vacation memories on the Oregon coast, come enjoy this cute and cozy Cottage by the Sea!

The rooms were small but so much charm. If you don't hear the ocean, you hear the frogs in the pond. The access to the beach was a blessing. Great value in this place.
We had a nice time in Rockaway beach. This home was nice and cozy with great personal touches throughout. Pet friendly, short walk to beach. Would stay there again.
We gathered to remember a lost sister. All of her kids and grandkids came, from far to be here.

July stay
The house was clean and well kept. It is a short walk from the house to the beach and a nice walk into town. The neighborhood is quiet. Just what two moms wanting a weekend away needed.
This was the perfect little cottage for catching up and hanging out with family. Close enough to hear the ocean and a short walk to the beach and Twin Rocks literally greets you - what a beautiful sunset! I could imagine staying at Cottage by the Sea for weeks and being perfectly content.
Quaint, homey, very comfortable, quiet and close to the beach
Lots of family history in this little bungalow. I could not get enough of the landscaping: huge hydrangea, honeysuckle, and more. The bath and kitchen have been updated and there are plenty of utensils and cookware, all of which is great shape which is not always the case at some rentals. Mattresses were very comfy. Thank you—I wish I was there today
Very cute beach cottage with short walk. Dog loved the beach Flying kites where an added treat. It was small with three bedrooms and one bathroom. Had everything thing for your convenience. It was exactly as advertised.
Very beachie decorations.
Fireplace did not work very well.
Close to beach.
Nice property!

Perfect!
Kitchen, laundry, internet, and close to the beach. What more could you ask for with kids? We loved this place. It was perfect for our family with 4 boys (4 to 13 years old). It was well stocked with soap, shampoo, and laundry detergent. There were even some games, puzzles, and beach chairs in the shed. It made the perfect home base for our exploration of the northern Oregon coast. Thanks!!!

A wonderful spot to stay and play
We really enjoyed our stay in this cottage. It was just a half block or so to walk to the ocean, where you were immediately greeted by miles of beautiful sandy beach. The sunset was spectacular against the twin rocks. The cottage itself was very comfortable. It was wonderful to have a full kitchen and laundry facilities. And I don't think I've ever seen a vacation rental with such a well-stocked kitchen! It had everything from an immersion blender to a double boiler! The customer service was excellent; staff was available and helpful 24/7. We would certainly stay here again.

Great location - Excellent Stay
Very close to the beach and just down the way there are local shops and restaurants. The street is quiet, so if you open the windows you can hear the ocean while you sleep. Kitchen was fully stocked. Very convenient that there is a washer and dryer for laundry in the house. The wireless network listed in the book was incorrect, but information was on the new router in the front room so very easy to connect and had great signal strength. There is soo much to do along this part of the coast its hard to list everything you have at your fingertips.

We love the cottage. It was close to the beach. We love the train going by and the pond. The only problem we had was the bathroom. You need to put a bathmat in the tub. The tub is to high after your done to step out to the floor. Other then that we enjoy our stay their. Would recommend to others.
Although suitable in size for a family, friend, or sister getaway, I enjoyed a week of solitude free from obligations and stresses. I enjoyed sitting at the bench by the lilly pond in the back yard watching the birds by day and listening to the frogs in the evening. I made it through the whole Debbie Macomber's The Cottage by the Sea book provided, a perfect surprise. With the beach access so close by I could get in a walk between cloud bursts on most days and on clear days enjoy lunch with my toes in the sand while sketching Twin Rocks, front and center. A lovely place to spend my first solo vacation.

First Time to Oregon Coast
We had a great time in this cottage. Very spacious older home with great well stocked kitchen. The one double bed and two single beds are comfortable. Anyone with stiff knees may have a challenge when getting out of the tub as the side is high when stepping from tub to floor. Really appreciated the washer and dryer and the chairs in small shed for sitting on the beach. The deck was a great place to sit with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine. Staff was available by phone and answered the one question that I had promptly and in a very friendly manner. We will certainly recommend this place to our family and friends.
