About this property

Historic 4BR Home Near South Wedge & Park Ave - Family Friendly with A/C

  • Experience Rochester from a beautifully restored 1890 home close to South Wedge. Enjoy original character, modern comforts, and a location that puts you minutes from Highland Park, Park Avenue, the University of Rochester, and Strong Memorial Hospital. Walk to local restaurants, coffee shops, and neighborhood favorites, then unwind in a home designed for families, friends, and extended stays. The Swillburg Heritage Home offers off-street parking and is family friendly! Whether you’re visiting Rochester for a family getaway, a wedding, work, or simply to explore the city, we hope this home feels like a place where you can settle in, relax, and feel at home. Built in 1890, this historic home has been carefully updated with modern comforts while preserving the character that makes it unique. Original wood trim, tall windows, and beautiful architectural details reflect its history, while central air conditioning, high-speed Wi-Fi, a Smart TV, and other modern conveniences make for a comfortable stay. Each of the four bedrooms draws inspiration from a place or tradition that makes Rochester special. Throughout the home you’ll find subtle nods to the city’s history, from Kodak and the Lilac Festival to the Erie Canal and Lake Ontario. We wanted the design to celebrate Rochester in a way that feels welcoming, timeless, and distinctly local. The fully equipped kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals at home, and the dining spaces make it easy to gather over breakfast before heading out or unwind together at the end of the day. During the warmer months, a charcoal grill is available for outdoor cooking. Whether you’re enjoying a movie in the living room, starting your morning with coffee on the front porch rocking chairs, or returning after a day of exploring, we hope you’ll find the home comfortable, relaxing, and easy to settle into. If you’re traveling with little ones, we’ve tried to make packing a little easier by providing a Pack ‘n Play, high chair, stroller, children’s place settings, and sound machines in every bedroom. You’ll also have access to a washer and dryer stocked with laundry essentials for added convenience.
The neighborhood has a welcoming, lived-in feel where you’ll often see neighbors out for a walk, children playing, and people tending to their gardens. Its central location makes it easy to explore many of Rochester’s restaurants, parks, museums, hospitals, universities, and other popular destinations.
"This home holds a special place in my heart. I was born just two blocks away, and restoring it gave me the opportunity to share a small piece of the city that has meant so much to me. My hope is that you’ll leave with wonderful memories of Rochester and a stay that felt as comfortable as home." - Oak & Olive Homes Co-Founder
