This home was the best VRBO we have ever stayed in. Everything worked and was taken care of. The attention to details by the owner were simply wonderful. Fully stocked kitchen was wonderful for our family meals. The space was clean and comfortable. Location great for the Roanoke area.
The propert was amazing and location was perfect. We enjoyed walking to eateries in Grandin Village and exploring other parts of Roanoke by walking miles on the Greenway.
Perfect property for our family gathering. Great location, fair price, communicative owners. Clean and well-maintained. Our second visit and we will be coming again.
It was a perfect place to spend time with the family. The house had everything we needed. Questions were answered promptly. We are repeat customers and will stay there again.
The property is spacious, modern and clean. The kitchen was well equipped, the bathrooms updated and beds comfortable. Plenty of common space for family gatherings. Excellent location. Communication with owners was always timely and they were accommodating in every way. Would definitely stay again and recommend to others.
A group of us stayed at the Stone House for a few days before a family wedding at Mountain Lake, and it was the perfect choice!
All accommodations were thoughtful and comfortable, with an impressive blend of technology, comfort, and beautifully curated decor.
We hosted a small pre-wedding cocktail reception here; the kitchen was super well-appointed and we found everything needed to prep and serve appetizers to our guests.
Overall a five-star experience, we're looking forward to staying at the Stone House again in coming years!
We were welcomed with true hospitality and grace and able to comfortably enjoy our family reunion with every possible amenity we could think of that accommodated all of our needs. We will definitely return and highly recommend to friends and family.
The house is impeccably decorated and very unique and fascinating! It was a fun experience!
We stayed at the property for a Virginia Tech graduation weekend and fell in love with the place. It was exquisitely decorated and spotlessly cleaned, with every attention to every detail. The history of the home is fascinating. Thank you for restoring and caring for this beauty and being such gracious hosts. The park across the street is an added bonus. We did have one scare with a park visitor who is likely unhoused but he moved on quickly. Otherwise, the stay was absolutely perfect. You won’t want to leave. We can’t wait to come back to spend more time Roanoke the next time.
Wonderful place to stay. Will definitely be back. We moved our oldest son into VT this past week. We stayed here to be out of the hustle and bustle of the college and it was a great choice. The house is spacious and very clean. The owner kept in touch throughout the week. Even asking how things went knowing we were moving our first child into college. The showers are amazing. It’s nice being so close to the greenway. We loved our stay here and hope it’s available when we are going to visit our Hokie. Thank you for such a great experience.
Aside from the history of the Stone House, we enjoyed our long weekend there for many other reasons! The accommodations are comfortable as well as attractive, the art throughout the house is eye-catching and for sale! The kitchen is well appointed- modern and perfect for real food preparation. The guestrooms are comfy and cozy while the ensuite bathrooms rock up to date fixtures! AND the location is perfect- across from a lovely park, not hemmed in by neighbors who may oppose short term renters, and it's graced with an outdoor deck perfect for relaxing after a tour of all Roanoke has to offer! Our family was able to gather without being on top of one another - separate dining room, living room.and den enabled us to have a place to chat all together or break off for smaller one on one convos. It's truly the best home from home stay we have ever had! Easy communication with the property manager and proximity to the Black Dog Salvage shops rounded out a truly exceptional stay.
There were 3 couples. We all had fun together and also doing our own thing. It was wonderful being right next door to Black Dog Salvage. A few of us really enjoyed this shopping opportunity. Others in our group were more inclined to active sports and enjoyed the access to the green way for biking and the area in general for hiking. Walking for breakfast biscuits was very popular as well as relaxing walks on the greenway paths. The porch and terrace on the property were delightful. The only negative I have is probably like any urban setting, we did observe some homeless camping and some drug activity. I was happy we were all adults. The host responded promptly when some unhoused camping was a little too close for comfort.
My husband and I stayed at The Stone House to celebrate our 27th anniversary, his 50th birthday, and his retirement after 30 years in public safety! The house went far above and beyond our expectations! Crista was a huge help in getting us settled in and checking in with us even when she was out of town! The house is tremendous. Exceptionally clean, with everything you could ever want and more. The renovations are breathtaking and we kept admiring every well thought out detail. The beds, furniture, and patio were so comfortable, and the master bedroom ensuite bathroom is to die for! The chef's kitchen is wonderful and laid out so well, it was a pleasure to cook in. And of course shopping at Black Dog is always so fun, and we really enjoyed chatting with Mike and Robert, they are warm, friendly and just great guys to get to know. Thanks to the whole crew who made our stay unforgettable! We already want to come back!
Besides being beautiful, the house was very clean, comfortable, in a great location, and full of amenities. Great communication and recommendations from the host. 10/10 would visit again.
This is an amazing property. The beds are so comfortable, and the furnishings have been tastefully picked out to fit the house perfectly. The outdoor spaces are also very nice. You can walk right next door to Black Dog Salvage or take a nice walk on the trail.
Great property everything is state of the art and working. The host was super responsive as was the property manager. I would definitely recommend or stay her again
