Charming 1920s Hillside Home Overlooking Valley and Rails-To-Trails
Hillside Home is an early 20th century home on the hillside above the village of Lawsonham in southern Clarion County. The home sits in a shaded wooded setting. It faces eastward with a scenic view of the village and valley of the Redbank Creek. (Sunrises here are often spectacular!) The Redbank Valley Rail Trail (redbankvalleytrails.org) passes in front of the house at the bottom of the hill, accessible by a short drive to the trail’s parking area. The house sits on a quiet private lane with hard road passing at a downhill below the house. There is a spacious elevated front porch facing the valley. We recently extended the porch along the north side of the house, so there’s plenty of space to sit and relax outside in good weather.
The home is fully furnished and includes laundry, bath, fully-equipped kitchen, dining and living rooms on the first floor, and upstairs 2 bedrooms and small bathroom with shower. There is a double bed in each bedroom with Zinus gel-infused memory green tea mattresses. Objects of art and antique furniture decorate the home. Kinetic/Windstream fiber optic optic internet. Flat screen tv with Roku streaming device (no cable or satellite). Cell phone service may be spotty or unavailable and for this reason cordless landline phone service is provided. AT&T cell reception reported as good.
Whether relaxing at Hillside Home, biking or walking the trail, or setting out to explore the area, we welcome your visit!

Very nice to meet Greg and Lynn. Our visit was to have a family reunion nearby and the house provided some much needed quiet rest offsetting the chaos of family life and partying. The bedding is super comfortable and homey. Would have been nice to use the porches but that will have to wait for another time.

The host was very nice. We enjoyed our stay. Friendly dog, fireworks show, full size refrigerator, washer and dryer, nice place to take a walk, and the hosts gave us a loaf of homemade bread.
My husband and I needed a quick getaway. We love biking the rail trails and we didn't want to stay at a hotel. I'm so happy we found this adorable cottage right a long the RedBank Valley Trail! It was the perfect location for us and the host was wonderful. I hope we get the opportunity to stay there again.
We enjoyed our stay:) it was easy to find and centrally located in the area we were roaming. We loved the antiques in the house and Greg was a great host!
Fun things to do and friendly pets. Lovely ambience with an old world charm. Our kids and dogs loved it and we would go again! Owner was so pleasant and welcoming.
The house was amazing with wonderful location in middle of the woods. We had very pleasant stay at property.

It was kind of dark in the house except kitchen and upstairs bedrooms. The antiques were nice.smelled musty. The swing on the porch was very nice and relaxing.the description said soap was there but the only soap was used in the shower.
Cozy pet-friendly home and superior hospitality. Antiques and area memorabilia were charming and informative. Grateful to have stumbled upon this last-minute stay since Grandma's house was overfull for the Holiday.
The peace and quiet of the country abounds here! We loved the setting and hospitality of the hosts. Everything we needed and more was available in the house.
My brother and I were very impressed with the serenity and peacefulness of The farmhouse we loved every minute of it we heard the stream running the storm was even beautiful I our dog was very normal he enjoyed everything of his day there as well I go back again and again the host was great the wife cooked us some great bread thanks Lynn we really appreciate it and Greg was friendly and very knowledgeable about the area and gave us nice stories and tidbits about The farmhouse thank you so much for having us have a great day
I booked this place to calm down from some stressful days in NYC and Washington. It is perfect! Our hosts were so sweet and interested in us and our plans. And Poppy was so delightful. I wish I had a few more dass for exploring the beautiful surroundings
We had a really great time staying at this very charming home!! Greg and Lynne were wonderful hosts...the house had everything you could need, clean and very comfortable.Peaceful and quiet, and a great porch for relaxing. Right near the Rails to Trails. We have rented other places over the years but this one was our favorite! Would definitely come back in the future!
Excellent stay at a lovely property! The house was absolutely charming and our hosts made sure we had everything we needed. The large porch was particularly relaxing, for a morning cup of coffee or an evening glass of wine. The beds were very comfortable and we slept so well. We especially appreciated being able to have our two senior dogs with us. Greg and Lynn made them feel welcome, too. This was our first experience with a Vrbo rental and we couldn't have been happier. We look forward to returning in the future. Thank you for a really wonderful stay!

Great Property Not Ready for Prime Time
First, the plusses: the property is very quaint, the antiques are very cool, and the property owner very accommodating and pleasant. In fact, his wife made us a loaf of bread to welcome us. Very nice....But, there were issues. The internet was terrible. It was barely OK for email, but not for anything else. Searches were impossible. Forget video streaming. The property owner told us that DSL was supposed to be installed but was delayed a couple of weeks. Since my wife and I surf the internet a lot, this was a big issue. To his credit, the property owner told us that he would inform his upcoming guests of this issue until the DSL is installed. The TV worked OK for live streaming but not for on-demand viewing. Fortunately, the property owner made available a large number of DVDs, which greatly compensated for the lack of video streaming. There was also as issue with sugar ants in the kitchen. A simple pesticide treatment took care of this issue. The bedrooms upstairs were very warm. The property owner had window AC units ready to install, but they weren't installed when we arrived. When we mentioned the issue to the property owner, he installed the window unit the day we arrived. Finally, the property had a musty odor throughout, like one might expect from antiques. And, the living room sofa had a very bad odor, which was mostly mitigated by covering it with a throw.
