Quaker Hill Cottage on gated estate with fire pit & hiking trails
Quaker Hill Cottage is a 70 year old home located on a private estate in the historic Quaker Hill Neighborhood. Enjoy the peaceful environment surrounded by mature vegetation and active wildlife. This cozy cottage is only steps away from a trailhead that leads to several nature preserve trails & a beautiful waterfall.
The Historic Downtown and Depot Districts are both just a mile away or you can visit Earlham College or explore the Antique Alley nearby.
Some things to note: There are only 3 parking spaces available to guests (additional parking options are available offsite.)
Only guests who are booked at the cottage are to be at the cottage (no additional guests, no visitors, and no parties.)
There is an Amazon Firestick that you can sign in to with your Netflix, Amazon, etc. account (no cable).
This is an old house & we have tried to make it as cozy as possible, but there are definitely cracks & imperfections throughout the entire house.
Late arrivals are absolutely fine!! We simply give you a code for entry so you don’t need to connect with us to get the key. Please keep in mind, however that we have set the check in time to before 10pm, however, because we will most likely be asleep after that & unable to answer questions.
Please be respectful of the neighbors by not leaving personal items out in the front yard or on the front porch. Items such as coolers, towels, baby strollers, etc. can be an eyesore. If you do need to leave personal items outside, please place them on the side porch or back porch.
Upon arrival: There will be enough supplies such as toilet paper, paper towels, and shower supplies to get you started for your stay.

We came to town to visit family and this little cottage did not disappoint! It’s well stocked, in a good area, and has beautiful surroundings. The owner was easy to contact when I had a question. We would definitely stay here again!
The house was just as described in the listing and had everything we needed. It is situated on a lovely gated estate with a large private deck in back overlooking an expansive lawn. The upstairs beds were very comfortable. We met the owner by chance, and she was super friendly and accommodating! Thank you!!
The house was clean and very cozy. We had a great family time there. Enjoyed the bottle of wine that was at the house on our arrival. Would suggest new steps from the parking lot or maybe a handrail.
This property is beautiful and the house was very clean.
The only thing I recommend is for it listed as
handicap not friendly.
I could not go up and down the stairs because I have some severe back problems. The stairs are steep and winding.
However because there are 2 bedrooms and everything I need on the floor we entered, I had no problem staying there.
It was a very nice place and we enjoyed it very much. The location is convenient to downtown Richmond. We had no problem finding it. The owners were super nice about having the gate open for us.
Overall, it definitely was a 5 star place.
Property very clean and cute. Decorated as a a fairytale cottage. Our biggest complaint it was not advertised - The cottage had a spiral staircase to second bathroom and 3 bedrooms
We are seniors and the staircase was hard to navigate. The only other complaint no bedroom had a bedside lamp or light. Each had a stand but no lamp. This made it difficult to see at night if you needed to find the bathroom. But over all a nice house nice location
Quaint cottage in Richmond, Indiana. Very peaceful location even though close to downtown. My sisters, our daughters, and I enjoyed spending time in such a beautiful setting.
The cottage is cozy and welcoming, and we were greeted with a bottle of wine which was a nice gesture. The kitchen is sparsely equipped. The cottage has lots of charm but could use some updating. We enjoyed our stay at Quaker Hill Cottage.
The house was very clean and the kitchen was well appointed. There were two bedrooms upstairs and three downstairs. The cottage is in a small enclave with a large older home, very quiet and private. Beyond the enclave is a street that provides easy access to services.
We did a girls weekend and loved our stay. The property was close to everything we planned, and also very peaceful and relaxing! Our hosts were great and made it very welcoming.
If you like history this is good place to stay.
Very beautiful setting for being in town. While sitting outside we saw two deer in the yard.
Peaceful place to stay.
We stayed here for a weekend in the fall to use as a place to stay outside of Indy. It was a beautiful spot, especially with all the fall leaves. The owner was super responsive to any questions I had beforehand. Would definitely recommend!
This property is awesome! Beautiful home with everything you need. The owner was very easy to reach, responded immediately, and worked with us when we needed to make last minute changes. We totally enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this place :)
Thank you so much for such a lovely home to be our home base as we returned to Richmond from all over the country to celebrate our 30th reunion at Earlham College! We loved the space, the decor and the communications with our host.
Check in was easy but there were no check out instructions so I just kind of did similar to check in with key. Nice place. Lots of room for my daughter’s sleepover but only one tv in the whole house which was a bummer. Also stairs could be safety hazard for some. Was difficult taking a toddler up and down and worried about the other kids. Also curtains do not cover all windows entirely so make sure you are comfortable with the open concept when it is night out. Overall we had good amount of room for 2 adults and 5 kids.
We were there for our son's wedding. The kitchen was a little unorganized. Clothes were left in the dryer from the previous stay and we had to buy dish detergent. We would recommend mirror in some of the bedrooms because when you have a lot of people there it was hard to get ready. Other than that, it was a nice stay.is hard to get ready.
The pro’s: The property was perfectly located and had plenty of space. Walking in felt comfortable and relaxing. Not super modern but nice. We had a party of 7 and we didn’t feel crowded at all.
The cons: the spiral staircase was very difficult to navigate especially with luggage. Three of the five bedrooms were downstairs and that staircase was not easy on us. There was an alternate outside entry but the stairs were slick to navigate at well. The downstairs bathroom didn’t appear to have any outlets so that meant we had to go to a different room to complete getting ready.
Overall… it was a nice stay and suited us very well. We appreciated the complimentary bottle of wine the owners provided as well. It was a sweet gesture.
