Careful with this host

When we entered the house we noticed the sticky floor, the very old and beaten furniture, and the dampness smell. We even cleaned the floor and started the dishwasher before our friends arrived. Then we heard sounds coming from a door, I opened it and the sound came from a person living in a very untidy basement. We didn’t feel safe with a person having access to the living room at any moment and we decided to leave. We were supposed to have the full house to ourselves. We only stayed for about an hour, time in which we try to clean. We were denied a refund and the owner never got back to us
