Nugget Casino Resort

"The pros: cheap rate, but for the resort fee which provides no actual value; timely and reliable airport shuttle; large, clean room; working shower; two small water bottles and a keurig in the room; small fridge in room The cons: staff completely ignored me while trying to check in; settled for self-check-in, which didn't work on the first machine and was confusing even on the second one; no staff available to help; staff seemed bothered when I asked for help; lobby was thick with cigarette smoke; elevators were old and in poor condition; no microwaves in rooms or apparently anywhere on the property (despite fridge in each room); resort fee is ridiculous for an overnight transit stay (provides nothing of value)"

"Wish we could've used the amenities but we got in late. Daughter was motion sick in car so ended up traveling very slow in our way there. Oh well. Paid the resort fee for not much. Not hotel's fault, but a little reminder for folks traveling with kids. They make things way slower! Also, having never stayed at a casino hotel before, wasn't super psyched that the casino was so front and center, but live and learn. Plus side, the room was very nice, comfortable and clean. Hotel and restaurant staff were friendly."

"Very beautifully appointed room with comfy beds. Maid service was excellent. Very friendly staff. Breakfast (not free) at the casino’s restaurant was wonderful and tasty. I liked that the hotel is separate from the casino and its smoke smell."

"Check in started out to be difficult because even though I had a confirmation from Hotels.com - the property did not have my reservation in their system. Alana was extremely professional and helpful, and succeeded in getting us a room. El Dorado performed amazingly! Hotels.com fell down on the job. :-("
