A group of us stayed and had a great time exploring the area and fishing off the dock! This is a great property for families with plenty of space to spread out and activities to keep everyone entertained. Would definitely stay here again!
We were in town for a family wedding and had a great stay. The property accommodated all of our needs and was clean. The dock had access to the lake and was great. We enjoyed using the kayaks and paddle boat. I had a question for the host and they contacted me right away. We would highly recommend this property.
We really enjoyed our stay at this lake house! The view of the lake was beautiful, especially through the large windows, and we loved relaxing on the wraparound deck. The dock is great with a rounded end with more room for multiple kids to fish. The fire pit, pedal boat, and kayaks are a wonderful bonus. The kitchen was well-stocked with utensils, which made cooking easy. The home has a cozy, lived-in feel. Most rooms had various items in drawers and on dressers, which could be a bit tricky with toddlers who like to explore, but we appreciated the selection of games like cribbage, chess, and dice. The owner was very communicative and pleasant, which made the whole experience smooth and enjoyable.

Lots of options for sleeping (2 rooms main floor, 2 rooms in the lower level), and a beautiful view of a shallow lake. We appreciated how easy it was to find the home, which can be challenging at times with homes in northern Minnesota. The hosts have a well-stocked kitchen for pots, pans, and utensils. We really enjoyed the north woods appeal and the peaceful setting.
ShangriLa lives up to its name, tucked away with a private drive separate from the adjoining neighborhood. Much of the time we felt like we were the only ones on the lake. The house is immaculate and attractively decorated. (We loved the moose dice.)
The deck provides idyllic views of the lake, framed by a weeping willow and a cedar. As it faces north, it was perfect for viewing the Aurora Borealis (picture below). There’s still a slight amount of light pollution in the area, so the Milky Way was dim, but still discernible. We saw some amazing falling stars from the comfort of the deck—surprisingly, the mosquitos go away sometime after full dark.
If star-gazing is not your thing, there’s plenty to do in the lake. Swimming, paddle-boating, kayaking, and fishing were all available. The main TV has access to streaming channels, although the couch in front of it only comfortably seats a couple of adults and two kids. Plenty of additional seating is provided, though, with indoor folding chairs and lawn chairs.
The host, Sandeep, responded quickly to all of our questions (and kindly didn’t tell us when the answers were provided on the Welcome sheet found in the kitchen counter).
We highly recommend this stay—just not the week we’ll be there!
Amazing property. Everything was easy and went smoothly from finding property to check-in. Host was detailed with what was expected. Property was clean and stocked. Host was quick to answers questions. Would stay again.
The facility was very clean and having three bathrooms was very desirable. Everything we needed was provided. Any problems we had were quickly corrected. The modern dock made it easy access to the lake.
Beautiful cabin, clean and well maintained lots of room for everyone. Loved the kayaks and the water tubes for fun on the lake. At night the sky was so dark and beautiful you could see the milky way stretch across the sky. The Host was very kind and answered my questions quickly. Could not have asked for a better experience, we were looking for a quiet relaxing week and that's exactly what we found at this lovely home.
My husband and I had a wonderful stay at this lakeside home! The house was even nicer and more spacious than the pictures showed — clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. The lake itself was perfect for fishing; we caught bass, northern, and sunfish right off the dock and from our boat! We also loved how close the boat access was to the house — super convenient. Whether you're relaxing or reeling in a big one, this place has it all. We’re already looking forward to staying here again! A nice bonus was how quiet the lake was.
Very nice place to stay. Rode atvs from Sturgeon Lake. Spacious and very private. Would definitely stay again! Everything we needed was available. Host was easy to reach and responsive if needed. We loved it!
I stayed a week with my family of 5 (2 adults and 3 children age 9, 10, and 14). We had an amazing stay. The lake water is super clear. The area is so peaceful and relaxing. The house comes with 2 kayaks, a paddle boat, and even some tubes for floating. The water was a good depth and temperature for swimming. The house was clean and stocked with everything we needed for cooking meals. I've been booking with VRBO for almost 10 years and this host was by far the kindest and most responsive person I've worked with. They replied to most messages within minutes. They even provided popsicles for the 4th of July holiday!
