Disappointing Stay – Poor Housekeeping and Unexpected Charges
I stayed at Charltons Banff for seven nights, from October 17 to October 24, 2026, and unfortunately, my experience was disappointing.
The room was not cleaned properly every day. For a hotel in such a popular tourist destination, I expected much better cleanliness and housekeeping services.
What disappointed me even more was an unexpected additional charge of $158.13 CAD in resort fees, which I had to pay separately at the hotel. I booked my vacation package through Expedia, and these charges were not clearly disclosed to me at the time of booking.
I don’t understand why guests are expected to pay extra resort fees when even basic housekeeping services are not properly maintained.
Hotels should be transparent about their charges and provide the services guests are paying for.
Banff is a beautiful place, but my experience at Charltons Banff did not meet my expectations. I hope management takes these concerns seriously, improves its cleaning standards, and provides a clear explanation and refund for the unexpected charges.
Very disappointing experience. I would not recommend this hotel without improvements in service and pricing transparency.

Things were missing in the unit ..
There were no pot scrubbers to clean pots and pans .there was no toilet bowl cleaner to clean the toilets on a long stay ..
House keeping was not there . at all . When after 2 days in my stay I asked for them to take the towles from the bathroom and the trash .. I let them know i would not be in the unit from 1 - 930 that evening and when i got back it had not been done ..
These are the things that can be inproved upon . The unit was lovely The beds were comfortable ..
