Native Elk Cabin is a gorgeous four-bedroom, three-bath home in the scenic Upper Valley area of Red River, NM. Surround yourself with comfort in this well-stocked spacious home. The large kitchen, multiple living areas, and loft make this home perfect for a large family or for a group of friends vacationing together!

All-season fun! Whether you'll be spending your days skiing and nights curled up on the sofa with a movie and hot chocolate or you'll be fly-fishing and ATVing during the day and enjoying the mild summer weather on the deck in the evenings, this house is the perfect "home base" for your get-away!

Our house backs up to the National Forest, with scenic views all around and hiking from the property. We are 5.7 miles (13 minutes) from the Red River Ski Area main lodge and the town of Red River.

This cabin is perfect for family vacations! Very roomy with lots of seating and a very well stocked kitchen. The view was beautiful; the location was great. Would definitely recommend and would love to go back some day.

Family vacation

It was our first time staying at a cabin and it was great, it really exceded our expectations and, everything was perfect. It was a well equipt house it had everything we needed and more. The surrounding nature was very relaxing aswell.

The cabin was amazing. Beautiful location, 10 minute drive into Red River. The cabin had everything we needed and more. We are talking about booking it again for next year!

Best cabin in a quiet and peaceful place!

Host was very helpful, everything you could possibly need is available for your stay. Cabin was exactly as explained and absolutely beautiful! Our group of 10 were all comfortable and enjoyed our stay! When we come back to Red River, we will stay again.

Family Get Away

This was our second time to stay at this home and we loved it more this year! There is so much room to spread out. The views are fabulous! The well stocked kitchen makes it easy to cook and serve our entire family. We will definitely come again.

Family vacation

Our family of 15 from Texas had a wonderful stay at your cabin in Red River. Especially enjoyed our evenings at the cabin cooking and enjoying time on the front porch. One evening before dark enjoyed watching over 30 Elk grazing in the field in front of the house.

Ski Trip 2025

Very nice house. Three families, six adults and four kids. Kids loved the upstairs room with four twin beds and their own area to hang out. Kitchen was well stocked with cooking pans and plenty of dishes. We cooked every night for five nights. Would recommend and would stay again.Owners were very nice and promptly replied to every email and text.

Wonderful retreat

House was amazing. Felt like we were in our own home, very inviting. House was well stocked with everything you would need. View was beautiful from the living room in the mornings. Perfect for Larger Family Vacation

This beautiful home is perfect for a larger family group. It was absolutely beautiful, with so many little details and amenities that we appreciated. Kitchen fully stocked with a large family in mind. We only had six people in our group, but were still very comfortable with the extra room. The location was perfect to take in the breathtaking color changes this fall.

Great place

We had a great time. The cabin was excellent and everything worked and very clean. We met the neighbors next door that live there in the summer. Very nice people from Waco, Texas. I enjoyed watching my grandchildren play and bond with their cousins out in the yard. We would definitely rent this cabin again.

Red River Getaway

Our stay at Native Elk Cabin was picturesque! The cabin is situated along the Aspen Valley and is surrounded by gorgeous views of the mountains and pine trees. The property had everything our guests needed that made the stay comfortable and pleasant. The property is huge and has plenty of gathering spaces to included a large dining table. Our trip couldn’t have gone better! We will be coming back! Thank you!

Very well equipped large home

This was a very nice well-equipped home. There was plenty of room for my wife and I, my daughter and her husband, and my son and his wife and our 3 grandkids. The home was located in a beautiful setting near Red River. The large table allowed us to all eat together.

Fantastic

This was without a doubt one of the best experiences that I’ve had with renting a property. It was very clean and was exactly as advertised. It had all the supplies that we needed and was so comfortable for our whole family. It allowed us to focus on having a great time and not worrying about our accommodations. A fav in Red River

We love staying at this location! The best part is that they have a HUGE table where everyone in the family can sit together to eat. I haven’t been able to find that often. The deck is also a favorite. We love watching for humming birds, taking a hike around the back of the house or sending kids to the patio room to play games. The host is always quick to respond to any questions I have.

Beyond all Expectations

Our family spend Thanksgiving week in this beautiful cabin! It is so spacious and has every amenity you could possibly want. Exceptionally clean and very well maintained. I have rented numerous VRBO’s in the past and I have to say this was by far the best yet. Loved watching the deer play on the hill right behind the cabin. Lots of different sitting areas with great views. I can’t say enough about this cabin and I definitely plan to rent it again. Highly recommend this property!! Cathy
