The house was just perfect and comfortable. the bed and pillows where good qulity and made for good sleep.veiw was great quiet and peaceful. 10/10 if we work here next year will book again.
Tranquil beautiful setting, on an amazing property.
In town for an annual bird hunting weekend in the UP and had a very awesome stay.
The home was accurate to the listing and the beds were all very comfortable.
The river was a huge bonus as well!
Would definitely stay here again.
We were lucky to host our very small wedding here with a few friends and family. The property is so pristine - absolutely beautiful with so much to explore just around the property. The lodge itself is very well stocked - kitchen is functional with quality cared for items. Beds were soooo comfy. We just loved the place and we thank you for the opportunity to create lasting memories here.
The location is beautiful and very secluded. The beds are pretty stiff. The place is huge and plenty of room for the 7 we had. Only rating lower because they didn't say in the descriptions that there is not AC. We were there on 100 degree days and the house stayed 80 or above most of the night. It was very uncomfortable
Absolutely incredible stay! This VRBO exceeded all expectations. The location along the river is stunning – waking up to those serene views was a dream. The area is filled with beautiful trails, perfect for exploring, and we even found some fossils, which was such a unique experience! The amenities were top-notch; the hosts thought of everything we could possibly need, making our stay comfortable and relaxing. This place truly felt like a home away from home, with all the perks of being close to nature. Highly recommend – we’re already planning our next visit!
Rustic charm meets modern amenities. The attention to detail shows how much care and consideration has been put into creating a place that you want to come back too! LOVE the Vintage touches throughout the home.We had a great stay, the perfect place to get away from it all and just enjoy time together as a family. The huge yard provides a ton of space for any activity and the house itself is spacious as well! The river was our absolute favorite, fishing during the day, catching frogs and crayfish at night and enjoying coffee with the morning visitors of birds including a blue heron! This was the perfect place and we all wanted to stay longer!
This property was a dream come true. The hosts and owner were kind enough to allow us to have our wedding on the property. We stayed about a week in total for the event. Upon arriving, we were able to go on a hike and see so much beautiful wildlife in the area. My sister and I collected turkey and blue Huron feathers and later in the week we collected fossils and initiated wars between the crawfish in the river. Exploring the property was wonderful and added to the excitement of our special day. During the week it did rain, however that did not take away from its charm, as as soon as we arrived at this place felt like home. Hidden gems such as the dart board, fossil collection, and board games kept us together and to be able to make meals together as a family was wonderful. Down the road there was a farm sweet corn stand that we bought some ears of corn from and cooked it up fresh. It was delicious!! We had seven guests at the house. Three couples and one single and it slept us comfortably. During the night the moon illuminated the yard and we stood and listened to the woods and the river. On the day of our special occasion, guests were in awe of the scenery and it was the perfect back drop for pictures and yard games. We hope to all come back as a family in the future and will always remember our wonderful stay at the Bearing North Lodge. Thank you Dave, Maureen, and Hope!
Beautiful lodge and property just as promised. Saw deer, bald eagle, heron, and other small animals. Beautiful, quiet retreat.Short distance from all major pints of interest.Definitely would stay again!Hosts were great.
This place was beautiful and peaceful. The kids loved playing in the river and looking for fossils. I was happy just sitting in the back listening to the river and watching everything. Everything about this exceeded my expectations and I hope to return.
If you're even thinking about booking this place, definitely just do it. Clean, tidy, peaceful, relaxing, and just a stunning setting. The river is amazing and the trails are the icing on the cake. The beds are comfortable, bathrooms clean with decent water pressure, the kitchen is huge with all the essentials. Just do it, you can thank me later!
The sounds of the river as we sat on the deck were amazing! Our sons (ages 11-15) had a great time looking for crayfish in the river and exploring the trails. We even saw a bald eagle flying over the river! This is an amazing home and property. It was a perfect location for our day trips to Kitch-iti-kipi, Manistique to rent ORVs, and the beaches of the Au Train/Munising area. We would love to return some day!
