Deer Meadow Lodge ~ 'The Heart of the Black Hills'. Located just 20 miles from Deadwood, Mt. Rushmore and Rapid City. At Deer Meadow you can 4-wheel, hike or cross-country ski right from the front door. Snowmobile trails with in 10 miles from the lodge. Pack your tackle/poles because your close to some of the best stream fishing or lake fishing.

If you're into biking the Mickelson trail is less than 8 miles away! If you're into gambling Deadwood is only 18 miles to the north on hwy 385 with cab service. Spacious Kitchen with all the utensils you'll ever need and more! Dining table sits 6 plus breakfast bar for 4! You'll relish the nice yard, large wrap around deck and outdoor hot tub.

Deer Meadow is perfect for a family vacation, business trips, hunting excursions or the Sturgis Rally with privacy! This place is also great for touring the hills because you're in the middle of all the attractions and it will save you time seeing everything! We look forward to your stay!! Your less than 20 miles to rent snowmobiles, 4-wheelers, and bikes for the Mickelsen trail. It is only 20 miles to Rapid City for shopping, golf courses, groceries, and etc. Mount Rushmore/Crazy Horse is only 25-30 miles. Several caves in the hills to tour. Less than 6 miles to chuck wagon dinner/ show. Lake Pactola is only 8 miles away that offers fishing, boat rentals and water skiing. Jon Crane gallery in Hill City is 20 miles. Rochford is 10 miles 'Moonshine Gulch Saloon/Small of America'. Spearfish canyon is 30 miles. You have the needles highway, Custer state park, Sturgis Rally 2010 70th anniversary, Keystone, and many other attractions that are close to Deer Meadow Lodge. Fishing: Lake Pactola is about 8 miles with boat rentals. Sheridan Lake is about 15 miles. Deerfield Lake is 20 miles. They all have great fishing. Stream fishing is only 6 miles from the lodge.

A beautiful cabin/house tucked away in a lovely wooded area. The kitchen was fully stocked and had everything we needed. Fireplace, grill and hot tub were wonderful. All communication with our host was excellent. We chose the perfect place for our girls getaway and we definitely would stay here again!

Relaxing stay

Great place to stay! Nice to have a comfortable place to come back to after a long day out sightseeing. Beautiful walks in the mornings and evenings and the hot tub was a huge bonus. Conveniently close to Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse and an awesome side by side rental place.Would 100% stay here again!

Great mountain retreat!

We absolutely loved staying in this cozy, uniquely decorated mountain home! Clearly the owners spent many, many hours decorating it with intriguing hunting/country/mountain decor. Beds were cozy, loved the hot tub in the evening, nice and quiet area for walks. And the location was terrific for all our day adventures we took. Thank you!

Great secluded cabin !

We had a great time at the cabin. The location felt secluded, yet close to some amazing hikes. The cabin was very clean, well equipped, and the hot tub was so nice after a long day hiking. There’s something really peaceful about drinking morning coffee and watching deer all around! I would definitely stay here again, and would happily recommend this cabin to others.

Quiet, cozy, and relaxing

We had a great stay. We enjoyed using the fireplace. We had a colder weekend, but we got out for a drive. Perfect location to take in a scenic drive on the back roads. The kitchen was fully stocked. Good beds, lots of things to look at on the walls.

Great Outdoors Cabin

Cabin is amazingly decorated and prepared for your great outdoor getaway. Perfect for the family or your outdoor buddies to share. We would rent this cabin again if it's available the next time we're in the area. It was perfect.

Great Location

Enjoyed the property, great place for three adult couples. Loved the outdoor seating and privacy. Came to revisit some of the Black Hills areas and this was easy access to everything we wanted to see.

A wonderful week!

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Deer Meadow! The home had everything a family would need to have an outstanding and memorable time. We also were close to South Dakota special areas including Deadwood, Lead, Spearfish Canyon, Custer Park, Rapid City. We enjoyed it all! We rode horses at Andy's in Lead; We enjoyed wine at Belle Jolie vineyard in Sturgis, Filet mignon at Alpine Inn in Hill City and so much more! We had daily visits from deer - and we had a snow day. The beautiful fireplace was put to good use!

A gem in the mountains

The property location is beautiful. There were daily visits of deer and wild turkey which made it feel like we were staying on a nature preserve. Mike checked in with us and was prompt with responding to a minor concern. Would highly recommend the property.

SD Motorcycle Trip

We had a great stay at this beautiful property! It was peaceful and we were able to see some wildlife while we were there. The location of the property was perfect to all the places that we wanted to venture off too! Highly recommended staying here! Hope to be back in the future!!

Motorcycle trip

Traveled on motorcycles and the gravel road was in great condition. Utilized the garage for parking which was nice as it rained later at night. Plenty of deck space for relaxing at the end of the day. Inside was comfortable and provided us with all our needs.

Great Centralized Location

The house was perfectly located for day trips to Deadwood, Sturgis, Spearfish Canyon, Keystone, and Mount Rushmore. Mike was very accommodating with any questions that emerged. We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend this house to others.
