The apartment was excellent value for money, clean, well equipped. It was warm and being on a main road I expected it to be noisy but it was really quiet. It's literally a six minute walk to the hospital door.
However.... The check in process is a pain in the a&$$ The keypass needs to be collected from another site and the ph. number on the expedia site was wrong. When I got the correct number, the phone was only answered after the fourth occassion.

"We spent two nights in Waitomo, and so happy they were spent at the Village Chalet. The room was very comfortable. Comfy bed. Heater kept us warm as temperatures dropped at night. "We LOVED our stay! We were offered dinner - a chicken and potato curry- which we took them up on. It was by far the best meal I’ve had in NZ- home cooked, tasty and so flavourful! We loved the garden area and the deck. It was one of our best stays. 100 percent recommended!!"
