The terrace provides a wonderful outside space for al fresco dining and the garden slopes down to the beach.
The Space:
This Italian Lakes lakeside villa is right on the lake with private lawns stretching to the shore. The property is furnished to a high standard in a contemporary style. The villa is laid out over two levels, with the living and bedroom space being on the first floor.
On this level, there is the kitchen, living and dining area, 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The living area is very colourful and welcoming with armchairs, sofas and a dining table, along with a fireplace for those winter rentals. Elegant chandeliers hang from the ceiling and there is access to a large terrace. The terrace itself has a dining table and chairs along with a more relaxed seating area around a coffee table. The interior has been particularly arranged so that all rooms offer amazing views over the lake and to the picturesque towns on the opposite shore, Meina, Lesa and Belgirate.
The lower floor of this Italian Lakes lakeside villa is completely open to the lake and includes the laundry room. There is direct access to the lake, with a gently sloping lawn, leading to the beach area.
The owner has installed air conditioning ahead of the 2026 season.

Guests have sole use of the entire villa.
The Neighborhood:
Ranco is a quiet lakeside town however boasts a number of amenities that guests will find useful including a village shop, lakeside cafe and bar and three restaurants including a Michelin Star restaurant. The villa is also less than a minutes walk from the boat stop where you can catch a boat to other towns and villages on the lake. Catch the early morning boat to one of the other villages, enjoy a spot of lunch and catch a boat back again later in the afternoon.
Getting Around:
We do strongly recommend guests hire a car when staying at this Italian Lakes lakeside villa as it will allow you to explore more of the lake however it is possible to stay here without a car. The boat stop is less than a minutes walk away where you can catch a boat to other towns and villages on the lake. There is also a cafe, bar, restaurant and village store within walking distance.
Other Things to Note:
There is nothing better than enjoying direct lake access when you're holidaying in the Italian Lakes and this Italian Lakes lakeside villa delivers this in bucketfuls! The garden is a wonderful space, with lawns sloping down to the lake water. There is nothing more peaceful than enjoying a BBQ here in the evening listening to the lake water lapping against the shore. However, as an added bonus, we love the fact that if you don't feel in the mood for cooking, you have a choice of great restaurants to walk to (or you can even catch a boat to one of the restaurants in the other lakeside towns and enjoy lunch somewhere else).

There is a local point of contact if guests need anything during their stay, otherwise, we leave our guests to enjoy their holiday in the villa in peace.

The layout of the house was excellent for 2 families with stunning views over the lake. Sitting on the balcony was peaceful and quiet with easy access from the garden straight onto the lake.
It is also well equipped with everything you would need.
We would like to return.

Good but could easily be better
On arrival we had not been told where to find the remote to open the gate. We parked where instructed whilst sorting this out and we're quickly asked to move by the resident.
The property was in a fantastic position overlooking the lake, with a fabulous balcony and lawned area giving access to the lake. However chairs on the balcony were broken and should never have been left for guests, the one collapsed while being used, and the awning did not work.
There were also some issues with cleaning like lots of dead flies in up lighters, cobwebs, and dirty cutlery and table mats which were resolved immediately by the local team, The chairs on the balcony were replaced, and the awning fixed, but all of this together with the amount of food and toiletries left by previous guests did not create a good first impression.
In the description it implies that you are able to get boats easily from Ranco to move about the lake, even suggesting to visit restaurants in other villages. This is not the case at all. There is one ferry out and one back in from Ranco daily. Very early and very late and that is it
There were some lovely decorative features in the property, very comfortable lounge and dining seating and very spacious.
The bathrooms however were very dated and there was no walk in shower as described
The bedrooms were again spacious with lots of storage and all bed linen and towels were of excellent quality, and it was great to have a supply of swimming towels in addition.
Prachtige plek met geweldig uitzicht. Huis op meerdere punten wat gedateerd maar dit heeft ook wel weer zijn charme. Sanitair en aanlegsteiger zouden moeten worden vernieuwd. Het balkon/terras is super, heerlijk om hier te genieten van het uitzicht. Ranco heeft een leuke eetgelegenheid aan het meer, aanrader! Goed en snel contact met de aanbieder, fijn! Wij hebben een heerlijk verblijf gehad in dit leuke huis.
Wir hatten schöne tage in diesem Haus. Die lage ist sehr schön, direkt am see und nah am Zentrum von Ranco. Das Haus war sauber und gepflegt. Der Gasgrill war kaputt und Gartenmöbel gibt es leider auch keine, nur Liegestühle. Das war schade… sonst war alles gut, ich würde es weiterempfehlen.
Wij zijn de afgelopen twee weken in deze villa geweest voor 10 dagen vakantie met vijf volwassenen.
Heerlijk huis. Niet het aller modernste, maar daardoor juist met meer sfeer en uitstraling. Zeer complete inventaris en meubilair. Ook bijvoorbeeld boeken, folders, kruiden etc aanwezig.
Heerlijk om via de benedenverdieping je eigen tuin in te lopen, je kano of board te pakken en zo het water in te stappen.
S avonds na uit eten (meestal in Angera; aanraders wat ons betreft: osteria Vecchia Capronno en delfino Blu) heerlijk zitten op je eigen terras/balkon en uitkijken over het meer.
We komen graag weer eens.
Nous y avons passé une excellente semaine début août 2022. L'endroit est super bien placé sur le lac Majeur, en bordure de l'eau, avec accès direct et privatif au lac. Vue splendide.
La maison est bien aménagée dans un style un peu ancien, mais agréable. Il manque juste la climatisation.
This was an ideal,property. The location was perfect being right on the lakeside and near a small village. Easy parking, great outside space and a comfortable house.
